“Give me a few minutes and I’ll be ready to go.” He smiled so hard he feared he’d crack his jaw.
“Stop. Not now. Well, I mean, okay, but I was thinking we could keep doing this.”
“Marry me.”
She laughed, not realizing he meant it. “We’re friends, and we’re attracted to each other. No strings, no hard feelings when you go back to Seattle in January.”
Wait. No strings?
She searched his eyes. “Grant?”
“Huh?”
“What do you think? Can we keep doing this and be friends? I like you a lot. I don’t want sex to ruin our friendship, but I won’t lie. This was amazing. And I needed it.”
He wanted her to say, “I needed you.” But, yeah, it was too soon. “You’re kidding, right? I have never, ever, had better sex in my life. I’m here whenever you want me.”
She smiled, and that shy grin made his heart race and stop and start all over again. Madly, deeply, in love with Piper Mason, Grant had to keep telling himself to go slow, to let her set the pace. He wanted her to more than like him, but love him. And she would in time. He just had to show her what she was missing.
He cupped her ass, loving her touch. “I hope I wasn’t too fast for you. You just got me so hot.”
She flushed. “Are you serious? I came in like, two seconds.” She sighed. “And I can’t believe we didn’t talk about safe sex, except it all happened so quickly.”
“Again, I apologize for that. I’ll do better soon.” All this talk of sex was getting him hard again. As was the feel of her soft curves over him. Her breasts were a true handful, and Grant had large hands. Perfection.
“Stop joking, Grant.” She tried to hold back a smile. “I’m on birth control, but we never talked about condoms or anything.”
“In my defense, I didn’t drag you in here for sex, though I’m in no way complaining.” He sighed. “I know, the talk... I haven’t had sex with anyone in six months, and when we did, I used a condom. I always use condoms.” He paused. “It’s a trust issue, and frankly, I didn’t trust past partners not to try to make a daddy out of me.”
“Oh, gosh. Well, I’m totally not—”
“I trust you, Piper.” He drew her down for a kiss. “Totally. I didn’t even question you when you took advantage of me.”
“Grant.” She blushed again. “I lost my head, I admit.”
“So did I. All I knew was I had to have you. Had to be inside you.” He pumped inside her, needing more. “Sit up and ride me.”
“B-but we need to talk.”
“So talk. I can listen while you sit over me.” He watched her, mesmerized by her breasts. He cupped them, thumbing her nipples. “You’re gorgeous. You get me so hot.”
“You’re big,” she said in a throaty voice. “You feel huge inside me.”
“You get me that way.” He let go of her breasts to grip her hips, urging her to move faster.
“We, ah, I can’t think.” She moaned as she moved over him, faster and harder.
“I want to come in you again,” he rasped. “No condoms. That’s my condition.”
“Yes. In me.” She planted her hands on his chest and jerked her hips, driving him crazy. “We’ll talk about the rules after.”
“After,” he promised and dragged her down for another kiss.

An hour later, Piper lay next to Grant, amazed at his stamina. And at the miracle of her many orgasms from a man. Not that her ex had been a slouch in the sex department, but he’d never made her scream his name or lose herself to the bump and grind. Having unprotected sex? She’d never, in her life, been so thoughtless about her safety.
Yet she trusted Grant to be honest about his sexual past.
