“You better, counselor.”
“When are you leaving for London?”
“Sunday evening and will be in London by Monday morning. I should be back by next Sunday. If my dad doesn’t find a way to keep me longer,” she says and I can’t imagine missing her face for a moment longer than that.
“Will your number be active in London?”
“It should be, and my UK number will be active as well”
“Can you send me the UK number as well so I can reach you?”
“Sure. I’ll send you the information when I’m fully awake.”
“Okay, talk later.” I hang up, and my anxiety is reduced. I also learned a few more things about her.
I let Patrick know that I’ll forward the email once I get it from her and he shouldn’t call her.

Daniel
Anu has traveled to London, and I’ve moved into her unit. She had cleaned out the main bedroom as promised. The unit is spotless, and the laundry room is clean with an empty laundry basket in it. I do get a moment to walk through her room. Sniffing her perfume bottles gets me a bit closer to her.
After the second night on the mattress in the main bedroom, I realize it’s not to my liking. I had to call Anu.
“Hello.”
“How’s London?”
“It’s good to be back. I’ve missed my dad a lot and getting to be daddy’s little girl for a few days is also fun.”
“Glad you are having fun.”
“I am. Is everything okay with the apartment? I got it cleaned before leaving.”
“Everything is fine, but I’m going to change the mattress. I can’t sleep on the one you have there, just wanted you to know.”
“Okay, whatever makes you comfortable is fine with me.”
“What are you doing today?”
“Getting my hair braided for my dad’s party on Friday. I need to look good and feel good.” Great, I’m reminded about her date that I’ve tried to shut down mentally.
“Nice, do send pictures.”
“Can’t promise but I will try.”
“Okay, talk later. I need to go.”
I hung up with her and called Patrick into my office.
“Yes, boss.”
“I need you to order me a new mattress for my room at Ms K’s unit. I need it by tomorrow and I’ll give you the key and code for delivery”
“Okay, and can I ask why you are living with Ms K?”
“It’s a win-win. She has agreed to be my date to all events, and I act as her live-in boyfriend, so her dad doesn’t keep sending eligible bachelors and also scare off the guy she feels is stalking her.”
