“I told you last night; you are never getting her. Put a billion on the table, the answer is still no.” His eyes widen. “Sign this deal and we both walk away rich; no harm no foul.” I lean closer. “Don’t sign, and I will call my brothers up and we will buy this company, and you are out of luck while we walk away. But one thing is certain: she will never be a bargaining chip.” I rise and turn towards the door. Aaron looks confused. I pause at the door when Spencer calls my name.

“All you had to say was you are in love with her,” he says with a shrug.

I don’t respond, I leave and hear the door shut behind me. Once in my office. I call her:

“Hello.”

“Hi, Princess.”

“Hey, you left early today. Are you okay?” she asks.

“I’m fine, just needed to get something done.”

“Okay. I thought I rode you to the point you had to run away.”

I burst into laughter.

“No such thing, princess.”

“Good. Well, I need to get going. I’m interviewing a few teachers today,” she says.

“Have a good day, and see you tonight.”

“Sure, if you don’t leave town.” She teases, I wish I didn’t have to travel as often.

“I promise I won’t.”

“Alright, see you later.” I hang up, smiling, just as Aaron comes in.

“He signed, and said to tell you, you are a lucky bastard,” he says, looking relieved. “Can I ask who she is?”

“Nope.” My answer is firm. It’s none of his business, the only thing he has to know is that she’s mine.

Chapter 64

Anu-Ms K

We have a date. Not sure why I’m excited about this date. We’ve gone out several times together before, but this is the second date that we had on the books since the night of the auction. According to him, all our other outings aren’t like this one. This one isthe date.

Nkem has forgiven him because of how he dealt with Teni. From what I hear, Teni’s dad has disowned him, and he’s roaming the street these days, and no one cares about him. I shudder, just thinking about that day.Shake it off,I remind myself.

I know my brother heard about it, and that’s why he came to visit and he suddenly thought I needed to meet a younger brother of his friend. I chuckled, remembering how Daniel threw a fit about my date with said friend. He certainly didn’t find it funny at all and really made that known.

I check myself out in the mirror; I like what I see. Nkem has perfected the neutral and classy makeup highlighting my cheek bones. At first, I wasn’t feeling so confident in the dress but, I’mloving it right now. Strapping my pink three-inch heel with gold butterfly, I’m confident that I’m ready for this date with Daniel.

Stepping into the living room, Daniel is on the sofa waiting for me. He sure looks dashing in the bespoke suit. His open admiration is clear as day.

“I should ask for a formal date more open, Princess. You look like a goddess.” I blow him a kiss.

“I would need a real kiss when we get back.”

“Guaranteed.” I smirk.

“Let’s get going.”

I take his hand, and we head out to his car.

“No Zack?”
