“I don’t know if I have the space or time to want anything more than what it was between us this weekend.” I admitted truthfully.

“You don’t have to know because I don’t either…before I saw you, I was supposed to be meeting your sister. My mother wants me to marry someone or lose my position in a company I gave many years to. I saw you, and my mission switched up. If I had to marry a strange woman just to save Maison Langston’s from destruction, that strange woman would be you.” He smiled.

“So, it’s deeper than sex? You need a woman to marry soon.” I asked, feeling my stomach turn.

“I have time, there’s no rush… If it’s you, I’ll give you a soft life. A life that you’ll feel secure in. I’d make sure you and Princess hadeverything y’all ever wanted and needed. You and your family would be covered for generations to come.” He didn’t blink as he professed.

“But you would be with other women, the marriage wouldn’t be real.” I whispered.

“I’ve only knew you for three days, three days compared to years of living the way that I do. I’m busy eighty percent of the time. Women come and go, but whoever I marry will stay forever.” He declared.

“I wouldn’t stay forever if it came with sharing you.” My brows lifted.

“That’s why I like you, Tru.” He pecked the tip of my nose.

I blushed and looked away because this man really was smooth as silk.

“You stand in front of a man that can change your entire life with one snap of his fingers…” He snapped his fingers right at the side of my ear. “Still, you chose to lay out what you won’t accept from me, when most women would jump on the opportunity not giving a fuck about what other women, I drop dick off in.”

Slowly, he lowered me down the length of him making sure I felt all of his hardness before my feet touched the ground.

“I’ll be in touch, Tru.” He winked.

Tru, why was I just now catching on to the nickname he gave me. Bleu got to the side of me and placed a gentle kiss on my temple.

“Where do you imagine your first date with me?” He asked with his eyes blazing into my side profile.

“Dinner so we could talk and get to know one another more. I love the beach at nighttime, when the water is still. Maybe a movie, too.” I smiled with excitement twisting inside of me.

Honestly, I’ve never been on an official date as a grown woman. It was the fact that Bleu even asked what I imagined our fast date to be. He didn’t mention planning another date at his penthouse. He wanted to take me out again in public which proved that he wasn’t an undercover big girl lover.

“Noted, I’ll see you soon. Don’t turn down any of the gifts that I send your way up until our first date.”

BLEU

A week.

Seven days.

And not one night had I wanted another woman. I declined all interviews with models and focused on work and creating new looks. I even made a decision to let Yvette run the club once I found a second assistant. I wanted to give more to my company Dom, while continuing to pour into Maison Langston’s.

‘Bleu’s’would become an upscale private club that would bring in millions once I expanded it. Yvette was excited because it meant her life would be elevating in a major way financially.

I realized how much my priorities had shifted in such a short time since meeting Truly. The anticipation of our upcoming date lingered in my thoughts, motivating me to push harder in my creative pursuits. Each day felt purposeful, charged with the hope that something meaningful could unfold between us.

I hadn’t expected the pushiness and controlling ways of my mother to end up being a blessing meeting Truly. Everything about her held me captivated down to the way our conversationflowed effortlessly. I spent every evening texting and facetiming her. I loved the sound of her soft voice. I even was happy for her excitement as a mother having Princess with her.

When I listened to Truly take her time and talk to Princess, I realized that she didn’t just take care of her because of the title of her being her mom. She poured into her daughter. A lot of things we talked about, she included Princess. Most women I met loved the idea of being loved back. Truly loved the idea of raising love in Princess itself.

I enjoyed hearing her laugh when Princess rambled on like she was having a very serious conversation with her mom. Truly made bedtime sound magical to Princess. I couldn’t even believe that I enjoyed even staying on the phone quiet just listening to their interactions.

Truly was a protector, teacher, and even though she was at home she worked. She would tell me all about her day, the excitement that she had making her new tea that helped her fall asleep faster at night. She was elated when her father drank some every day this week in the morning. He gave her an honest review and told her it really worked and energized him. I told her on our first date; I wanted her to bring me a fresh batch. The only thing her herbal tea brand was missing was a name.

I really wanted to beat her baby daddy ass. He was the definition of a bitch ass nigga. When Tru told me that he had been using their daughter as leverage. I made a mental note to visit him. In my eyes, no woman should keep a man from his child, and I felt the same vice versa. You hardly heard of men keeping a child away from the mom.

A kid needed nurturing that only a woman could provide them with. Tru was very feisty with an outgoing personality. Still, shewas a sweetheart, very kind and generous. Most of all, she was an understanding person.
