I watched his fist clench then unclench. He buried his hands into his pockets. I picked up on him, mentioning purchasing a new phone. That was a smooth way of demanding my number.

“Give me your phone, Bleu.” I bounced Lolani on my left leg and held my hand out.

Lolani soothed me instantly; her tiny hands ran over my damp short waves. Aubry wasn’t going to cut up in front of Lo Lo. He never liked her to see his evil side and I was grateful for that. Bleu pulled his right hand out of his dress pants with his phone attached. He swaggered my way, unlocked his phone and handed it to me.

“Call yourself.” He smirked down at me knowingly.

I frowned at him for a couple of seconds, my eyes glanced down at Lolani, and she was showing all her teeth smiling up at Bleu. She likes him…I hit the call button, purposely, I let the phone ring three times before I hung it up.

“Can I talk to you outside really quick, Bleu?” I asked, handing him his phone back.

While I was happy that I finally had a man besides my dad standing up to Aubry. I didn’t want to make the situation worse. I might’ve had Aubry by the balls with my lie upstairs along with his confession, but I knew that Aubry was clever. He probably was already plotting what his next move with me would be.

Soon as he heard me ask Bleu to step outside and talk, he offered me a shit eating grin. I hated him with everything in me but feared his next move. I calmly sat Lolani down beside me then stood to my feet. I looked over at my dad, my nerves got even worse when I noted the scowl on his face aimed at Aubry.

Aubry really pressed his luck today. My dad only allowed Aubry to walk through his front door when he had Lo Lo with him. I was appreciative of that, because I never wanted my baby exposed to toxicity.

Bleu guided me by my lower back to the front door. Aubry stayed glued in the same spot with the same smug smile glued to his face. Soon as we got outside, the sun beamed down, and a fresh gust of wind blew across my face. Bleu closed the door behind us and turned to me with anxiousness. I licked my lips and was about to talk but was stopped. Bleu grabbed me, spun me around and kissed me deeply.

Desire overrode my senses at once. I forgot what I wanted to tell him as he dominated the kiss. He kissed me so deeply, his hand cupped the back of my head. I moaned into his mouth as his velvety tongue slid over mines. My nipples tightened, breath hitched as I shivered against his hard body.

Bleu’s hands slipped along my arms down to my waist. Before I knew it, he was cupping both ass cheeks then he smoothly picked me up by the bottom of my butt. My legs opened and wrapped around his waist. A moan eased out my mouth as he placed a final kiss to the corner of my lips.

Forehead pressed against mine; I breathed in his minty breath. I didn’t know what this was… but I felt warm inside. I felt this strong yearning for him not to place me down on to my feet. Bleu was pursuing me, and the scary part about this was the why’s? I tried to do myself a favor by leaving before he woke up. Yet, I was with my back pressed against the front door in his strong hold.

Did he not understand the type of dick he dished out was lethal? His name already proceeded itself, his confidence was ona thousand. Bleu’s persona screamed big dick energy. My mind felt cloudy, but I knew what was more important.

Lolani came first, not a man who had women at his disposal.

“My life is…complicated, Bleu.” I looked into his eyes.

“Complicated doesn’t scare me, Tru.” He licked his thick cinnamon lips.

Those hooded hazel eyes burned into mine with determination. I grabbed his broad shoulders and sighed.

“Bleu, we can’t…this…” My voice broke.

He didn’t do or say anything, just looked at me like he could see through my soul.

“What happened between us was temporary…. We enjoyed each other this weekend but now I have my daughter to focus on. A one-night stand that was probably a mistake can’t just force its way into my world and make things more complicated.”

The momentmistakeleft my mouth he pulled his forehead away. Something shifted in his expression, and it wasn’t anger.

“What we did isn’t something I’d ever call a mistake…” his voice sounded deadly sure.

“You don’t know me,” I said trying to protect the emotions that started to rise inside of me.

Why is he making this shit hard?

His hand slid up the back of my neck, fingers warm against my skin. His thumb traced the edge of my jaw, he was gentle, and it grounded me. His words didn’t sound aggressive; I didn’t have to tread lightly or feel uncomfortable debating with him.

“I know exactly enough,” he murmured. “I know you’re tired of life but won’t give up because of Princess. You love everyone else harder than you love yourself.”

I sucked in a breath, my insides tightened as he continued to stare deeply into my eyes.

“And I know,” he continued, voice barely above a whisper. “This weekend was the first time in a long time someone actually saw you…tended to you and made things easier. Connecting yourself to me wouldn’t come with confusion and struggle…. you wouldn’t feel like you’re failing either just because you like to take on different endeavors, succeed then move on from them. You have multiple passions, not just one. You need somebody to fund it and push you along depending on the direction you are headed in.” He squeezed the bottom of my ass and pressed his forehead against mine.

My body betrayed me as my arms went around his neck.
