“So humble.”
“Did you think I ever was?”
“For a minute there.” I giggled.
“Once I get over the fear of making a fool of myself, I’ll make sure to fit expectations again.”
“You can’t make a fool out of yourself right now,” I said.
He let his thumbs brush over the tips of my nipples. I sat up straighter, feeling it strum a chord low in my stomach.
“Especially not while you are doing that.”
“How about this?” He lowered and immediately took one of my breasts into his mouth. All bravado.
Oh, how I loved his self-confidence. I shivered.
Each of us used our fingers and palms, dragging feeling over each other as we got undressed, shaking with anticipation as I settled underneath him. Heat radiated between us.
“Are you nervous?”
“Right now?” Taking a deep inhale, Ryan met my eyes. He nodded, then shook his head as I traced the pattern of his freckles along his cheeks.
I smiled. “Good. Because I literally think I might die if you stop touching me.”
“Is that so?”
“Very so.”
As if to prove it, I shifted my hips, leaning down to take a tiny bite alongside his neck. He moaned, grunting to keep himself together.
I wanted to watch him fall apart.
“Is there something you need to tell me?”
“Like what?” I asked.
“Like you’re a vampire as well as a witch?”
I laughed, the sound warm and gooey, like honey. I’d never thought I could laugh like this. We were bare and vulnerable, the pair of us. It was perfect, soothing. The muscles in Ryan’s back tensed as he settled over me. He hissed with pleasure as he shifted, rubbing between my legs. I inhaled with him in a small whimper, all sensation.
Catching each other’s eyes, we laughed again, low and breathy.
“Ready?” I asked.
Dipping his head low to give me another kiss, Ryan positioned himself as he kept his eyes on mine, never straying. I couldn’t help the low groan as he sank deeper inside me. It was unlike anything else I’d felt before. He was perfect.
“You all right?” He sounded as if he’d already run a marathon.
“I’m perfect,” I breathed. “So are you. You feel so good. You are so good.”
Slowly, he began to shift, his thrusts gentle and soft for a moment as our mouths held over one another. Each breath and tiny gasp were shared. We built and thrummed with tender sway until we couldn’t seem to stand it anymore, crashing down in a pile of quiet murmurs and tangled limbs.
I clutched on to Ryan’s chest as he slowly draped over me, breathing in the smell of love and him. “Stars.”
“You’re seeing them too?”
I chuckled. “I really love you, Ryan.”
