“I love you too.” His fingers traced my jawline from beneath my ear to my chin. “And I wasn’t going to run.”

“You almost did. You made it to your car before changing your mind.”

Jonah scowled. “You got cameras here or something, Devil?”

No more hiding. “No. I um… I asked Raven to keep an eye on you.”

The scowl deepened, but he fought a smile pulling at his lips. “Well, she did a terrible job.”

I shrugged one shoulder. “I told her to keep her distance and follow you if you left.”

“Would you hunt me down and bring me back if I did?”

“Of course I would.”

He didn’t fight his smile this time. The fact he even doubted that offended me. Jonah was mine. There was nowhere in this life or the next that I wouldn’t follow him.

TWO BIRDS, ONE DILDO.

Fingertips gripped my jaw, holding me in place as Jonah took what he wanted, his softness turning to desperation. There was more we needed to talk about, but it felt like we’d made progress, and I needed him too.

It must have been late afternoon from the light streaming in through the window. The sun hit him just right, and I swear his eyes looked golden. Sharp and bold. Rich and deep. And I didn’t drink, but I was an alcoholic for the whiskey of his eyes.

He was so beautiful.

Jonah rolled his hips into mine, his scowl deepening. “Stop just looking at me and do something about this,” he said, pushing his hard cock into mine, as if I hadn’t noticed it yet.

“So demanding,” I chuckled.

“You like me demanding.”

“Mmn, close. I like you needy.” Jonah looked ready to protest, so I continued further. “And I like you desperate and whimpering.”

He exhaled a shaky breath, pupils dilating. Black swallowing gold. “Then make me desperate.”

It was a challenge, and one I couldn’t refuse. I darted forward, catching his bottom lip between my teeth, biting him roughly before I sucked it into my mouth. Jonah groaned, his nails sinking into my skin above the waistband of my boxers. Obviously we had to lose those, but a wicked idea resurfaced in my mind first.

“Do you remember what I told you on the roof of thecollege?”

Jonah groaned, frustrated that I was talking again instead of acting, but I wouldn’t let him have his way just yet.

“What part?” he sighed in annoyance.

“The part where I told you I’d punish anyone who hurts you.” His eyes widened slightly. “Including yourself.”

Jonah swallowed and then nodded.

We would need to talk more about what he’d done to himself, why he’d done it, and make a plan for what he should do the next time he felt like harming himself. And we would. After I’d punished him.

“Get on your hands and knees.”

“Make me.”

It was a game. One we both knew he wanted to lose, but he had to play it out first. He wanted to give up control, but only after I fought him for it. I had to earn it. I intended to do just that.
