Still, he remained silent, but I saw the internal war he was having with himself. The stillness of his body fighting the chaos inside his mind. His jaw flexed and then it hit me a little too fast. Kenric wanted to stay where he was planted, stay in control and untouchable. I wasn’t going to let him do that at all.

“I don’t care about your attitude and your need to be in control.” I said in a soft tone, I didn’t want him to feel like I was trying to challenge him at all.

“I know for a fact that you always around here giving everybody orders.” I sighed imagining how draining that could have been for him.

“Let me show you something else besides giving out orders for once.”

His eyes locked with mine; my body reacted from his intense stare alone.

“I don’t do water, little owl.” He finally said, his raspy deep voice was low in a warning tone.

I swam to the edge and rested my arms on the concrete.

“Well, you will do water today, take off them expensive ass sandals and get wet with me or in me.” I smirked seductively.

Whoa, that last part was not supposed to come out…I blushed hard at my own admission because Kenric was a sight for sure. I held my breath as Kenric’s lips pressed into a thin line, but he didn’t turn away. He watched me, then with a measured exhale, he dragged one foot from his sandal, and for a heartbeat, it hovered over the blue water. My heart stalled. Then he dipped his toes in, testing the warmth, testing me. I felt a bubbling excitement spring up in my chest, laughter threatening to escape as I swam closer, anticipation singing in my veins.

He regarded his own foot for a moment, as if reconsidering, but then he shed the other sandal, and, with a slow grace that belied his usual rigid edges, stepped fully into the pool. The water lapped at his ankles, his calves, and then he was in, up to his knees, the dark fabric of his trunks clung to strong lines that I admired while he was standing out of the pool.

I couldn’t help myself, elation overtook me, and before I could second-guess it, I surged through the water and leapt upinto his arms. My arms flung around his neck; the cool water droplets clung to my skin as I pressed myself to him.

“Thank you, Kenric.” I whispered into the shell of his ear, my voice full of laughter and gratitude.

He froze, and for a second, the world felt suspended, his chest unmoving, his muscles taut beneath my touch. Slowly, as if the decision cost him everything, his arms wrapped around me, steadying me, holding me above the surface. His grip was tentative at first, then certain, warm and strong, an anchor in the shimmering pool.

His brows lifted, just a fraction, and I saw something unguarded in his black eyes, softness, a surrender to the moment neither of us had planned. I grinned, my lips brushing against the line of his jaw.

“See? Not so bad,” I murmured, delight sparking in every cell.

He huffed a low, begrudging laugh, but didn’t let me go. Kenric’s breath tickled the side of my neck, the warmth of his body mingled with the coolness of the water. His lips grazed the lobe of my ear, and his raspy voice was almost a rumble so low I felt it more than I heard it.

“You know… you drive me crazy, little owl,” he whispered. “Look at me—standing here, soaked, doing things I swore I’d never do. You make me want to forget every rule I ever wrote for myself.” He looked me deeply in the eyes. My body yearned for him as his dick pressed into my center.

His hands tightened, possessive but gentle, keeping me close. I felt the tremor in his chest, a battle between restraint and the wildness I seemed to conjure in him.

“I just wonder if I showed you all the sides of me,” he continued, his words winded around around me, “the sides that I hide, the ugly ones, the ones I’m scared even to name, would you want me to change?” his thick brows raised.

I pulled back just enough to meet his gaze, searching the depths of his eyes for the hidden sides of him that he spoke of. My lips curved into a soft, fearless smile.

“No,” I said, my answer as steady as the arms that held me. “I wouldn’t ask you to change. Not for me. Not for anyone. Only you can want to change you, especially if it’s for the better.”

The tension in his jaw loosened, something wounded, and hopeful flickered behind his dark stare.

“I want you to teach me how to swim but only if your naked little owl.” He released me out of his hold.

I leaned back against the wall of the pool only for Kenric’s long arms to cage me in front of him.

“You wanted me to get wet with or in you right?” He licked his full lips then cocked his head to the side.

“Thought you were in some sort of control forcing me inside.” He pulled himself closer to me.

My pulse drummed in my ears, the thin blue shimmer of the water reflected dance-like patterns across Kenric’s arms and chest. I lifted my chin, meeting his gaze with a boldness that surprised even me.

“I suppose I did,” I murmured, letting the words tease between us, light as the rippling water. The air between our bodies felt electric, my pussy pulsed in need for him. Kenric’s fingers grazed my shoulder, trailing down the length of my arm. He stopped just above my wrist, his thumb brushed gentle circles against my skin as if learning the language of my pulse.

“Then show me,” he said, voice rough but threaded with a strange reverence that made my spine stiffen.

I took a breath, slow and deliberately, then let myself slip from the confines of his arms. The pool’s coolness enveloped me as I glided away, turning just enough to beckon him forward with a crooked finger. Kenric followed, his movements more hesitant now, once he noticed that I was moving further out inthe pool. Accepting the challenge, he walked towards me still standing tall, until the water rose above his belly button.
