Her heart suddenly burned like a red-hot coal inside her chest, and heat filled her face. It wasn’t the heat of shame or excitement. It was jealousy. She pressed her hands against Spike’s chest and pushed him away from her. Not that she was actually strong enough to push the big bisonman, but he took a step back just the same.

“Hang on,” Tess said, her voice trembling on the edge between anger and tears. “I need you to tell me something right now, and I need you to be completely honest. Have you or Peyton ever… have you ever shared the Walker women?”

Spike looked down at her for a moment with a blank expression, as if she had just spoken to him in a foreign language. Then a big grin cut across his face, and he barked with laughter. Peyton was laughing too.

“It’s not funny!” Tess half shouted. “I’m serious. I need to know right now.”

Spike’s expression grew sober again. “I’m sorry for laughing, Tess. It’s just that, what you’re suggesting is so… so absurd. We love the Walkers, both the women and the men, but not like that. They’re our friends, they’re practically kin to us, but that’s all.”

“So you’ve never…”

“Never,” Peyton said, coming up behind her and placing his huge hands atop her shoulders. “It hasn’t even occurred to us. To tell you the truth, Tess, you’re the first woman I’ve ever been intimate with, and I’m pretty sure the same is true for Spike.”

In front of her Spike nodded and stepped closer, placing his hands on her hips. The relief Tess felt washing over her was like a cool breeze.

“I’ve… I’ve never been with anyone before either,” she admitted.

“That’s good,” Spike rumbled. “If any other man or minotaur had ever tasted you, I would have to hunt the bastard down and kill him.”

Tess couldn’t tell if he was joking or not. It sounded like not.

The two brothers closed in around her more tightly. Her breasts flattened against Spike’s hard muscles, while lower down the even harder bulge of his arousal nudged against her bare stomach. Behind her, Peyton swept her hair aside and trailed warm kisses down her neck. She could feel his arousal prodding her too. Within a matter of seconds, her whole body was tingling with need. She was already a hair’s breadth away from coming, and the bisonmen hadn’t even taken her clothes off yet.

“You know,” Tess said. “Based on your performance this morning, I never would have guessed I was your first.”

“Who knows,” Peyton whispered, his breath warm against her ear. “Could have been a fluke. You know… beginner’s luck.”

“There’s only one way to find out,” said Tess.

The next thing she knew, she was slung over Spike’s shoulder, and the big bisonman was carrying her into the house while Peyton followed close behind, unfastening the buckle of his belt as he went.

CHAPTER 19

Spike had been waiting for this moment all day.

Earlier, at the Walkers’ home, he’d politely pretended to enjoy the lavish meal his neighbors had provided for them, but every dish had tasted bland to him. The problem wasn’t the cooking. The Walker women were probably some of the most skilled cooks in all of Colorado, and their ingredients were of the highest quality, grown in the rich soil of the secluded valley which Spike called his home.

No… the problem was the hucow.

Tess had ruined him. Now that he’d tasted her milk, nothing else could satisfy him. Even the green grass of the valley couldn’t compare with that sweet cream she was carrying around inside her. He feared she had ruined him for good.

More than a dozen times on their slow trek back from the Walkers’ home, he’d been tempted to yank the hucow down from her saddle and milk her right there in the middle of the valley in front of God and the entire buffalo herd. He knew for a certainty that his brother had been feeling the same way too. Spike often knew what Peyton was thinking even before Peyton did, and vice versa—that’s how close they were.

And sharing the hucow only made them closer.

Somehow, they had managed to keep themselves under control the whole way home, and amazingly they’d even managed to get a few chores done afterward, but now they could not hold back any longer.

Evening was approaching, they were at home, and they had the little hucow all to themselves. It was time to share her, time to make her scream with pleasure, time to make her come so hard she forgot her own name.

It was milking time.

Spike charged through the door with the little hucow slung over his shoulder and the smell of her sweet arousal filling his lungs. That delicious scent turned his blood to fire inside his veins.

As he entered the house, he caught a glimpse of himself in the little mirror hanging above the washing-up basin. The eyes looking back at him from that reflection were the eyes of a rutting beast mad with lust. He reminded himself that he needed to be gentle with the little hucow, but he didn’t know if he was capable of gentleness tonight. He honestly didn’t know.

And maybe gentleness wasn’t what the hucow needed.

He lifted her off his shoulder and set her down on the wooden dinner table, then he leaned in and claimed her mouth with his own. For a moment she seemed shocked by the intensity of his kiss, but then she was pressing into him with all the strength her tiny body could muster, returning his kiss with equal ferocity.
