Real freedom.
Tess let her gaze drift over the vast herd of wild bison grazing on the green grass that filled the bottom of the valley. A hundred years ago, those bison would have been a common sight in the American west, but not anymore. Outside the valley, there were only six or seven scattered herds of buffalo left, and most of those were only in the double digits. If she stayed here in the valley, that meant she would be able to help in her own small way with the survival of those majestic creatures, and that made her feel good too.
It wasn’t difficult to picture herself living out a happy existence here in the valley, but Tess reminded herself that it was still too early to be making up her mind about that. She still barely knew the two bisonmen walking along beside her, and she would need to get to know them better before she made any rash decisions about her future.
She’d been thinking about it the whole time they’d been at the Walkers, in fact.
Thinking about getting to know the bisonmen better.
Every time she’d glanced across the table to find Spike’s dark eyes watching her or Peyton’s slow burn of a smile spreading below the lenses of those oddly attractive spectacles, she’d felt something like a jolt of electricity. It wasn’t a bad jolt, like the ones the electric cattle prod gave out. It was a good jolt, a jolt of pleasure that was always followed by a stiffening of her nipples and a warming of her loins. She’d been tempted to extend one leg beneath the table and nuzzle the bisonmen’s crotches with her feet just to see if they were experiencing any stiffness of their own, but she’d restrained herself because there were kids present.
There wouldn’t be any kids back at the cottage, though. Just three consenting adults.
As they made their way up the valley, Tess had no illusions about the things that would happen between her and the bisonmen when they got home. Yesterday she had resolved to keep her distance from the two males, but now she understood just how futile it would be to try and resist the natural urges welling up within her. Tonight she would let the bisonmen milk her again, and she would milk them.
And perhaps they would go even further than that. They hadn’t had sex yet, but Tess knew it was only a matter of time before they did. There was no way she would be able to make it two weeks without experiencing what it was like to feel the bisonmen inside her.
There was only one question…
Whose bed they would use, Spike’s or Peyton’s?
Between those thoughts, and the motion of the saddle rocking between her legs, Tess was feeling incredibly aroused by the time they reached the cottage. She would not have protested if the bisonmen had taken her down and shared her right there in the yard while the nearby bison watched.
But there were other chores that needed doing first.
Tess didn’t complain about that either. It was good to delay her pleasure for a little while. She knew the extra anticipation would make it feel even better when the time finally came. Plus, Tess didn’t mind doing chores. It made her feel like a person again, instead of a piece of livestock, which was all she’d been back at Crooked Valley.
Peyton ventured off to the barn to check on something.Tess guessed it had to do with the airship. Meanwhile, she and Spike untacked the horse Tess had been riding and put it back in the corral with the others. Tess had thoroughly brushed the animals, while Spike had fed them oats. By then, Peyton had returned, and they took down the sheets they’d hung out to dry that morning, and carried them back inside to make up Roscoe’s bed.
By the time they were finished, it was already late in the afternoon, and the sun was getting low over the hills to the west of the valley. Tess and her companions went out on the porch to relax and watch the shadows grow long.
The two bisonmen plopped themselves down in the rocking chairs, but the third chair was too big for Tess to sit in comfortably, so she just leaned back against the railing of the porch, facing Spike and Peyton. During their trip to the Walkers’ farm, Tess had worn her shirt buttoned and tucked into her jeans, but once they had gotten back to the bisonmen’s cottage, she had unbuttoned the shirt and tied up the ends to leave her midriff exposed, as well as the tops of her breasts. Partly, she had done that to help keep cool in the afternoon heat. Mainly, she had done it to get the bisonmen’s attention.
It appeared to be working.
She liked the way the minotaurs’ eyes felt moving over her body, and she was eager to feel other parts of them moving over her as well, but she waited for them to make the first move. She could tell by the bulges between the bisonmen’s legs that they were feeling eager too, but she sensed they were holding back, drawing out the anticipation just a little longer.
“So,” Spike said, breaking the silence. “What do you think of the Walkers?”
“I think they’re some of the kindest, most generous people I’ve ever met,” Tess said. “I had a great time meeting them… but I was a little embarrassed about one thing.”
“What’s that?” Peyton asked.
“Well, when we were over there, I couldn’t tell which of the women was married to which of the men. They’re all named Walker, so I couldn’t keep straight who was married to whom.”
“The men are married to the women,” Spike said.
Tess rolled her eyes. “I know that, silly. I mean I didn’t know which man was married to which woman, or whose kids were whose.”
“You don’t understand,” Spike said, slowly rising from his rocking chair. “All three of the men are married to all three of the women.”
Tess scowled in annoyance, and she was about to tell Spike that he’d already said that. Then it dawned on her what he’d actually just said.
“You mean they…?”
“That’s right,” Spike said. He was standing right in front of her now, and he let his big hands slide down her arms so that his thumbs grazed softly against the sides of her breasts. “They share.”
Tess remembered what the women had told her as she was leaving: Here in the valley, everyone is happy to share.
