Holding On

Justice for the Russo family…will come at a price. The man who killed their parents was never held accountable. What Travis and Maya discover will saves lives, but puts their own at risk.

Maya Hamilton:
Working for a judge is way more political than I ever imagined. I’m stressed out, scared I’ll lose my job, and worried about how I’m going to finance my final year in law school. I thought taking a position in Maine would be less hassle, less worry, less territorial. It’s not. Then on top of all the intrigue in wanders Travis Russo—and it’s clear the little boy I babysat one summer is no longer a harmless charmer with a penchant for ice-cream. He’s tall, dark, and so handsome and definitely a danger to achieving my goals. I must stay focused. I have to go back to California and finish my last year—and yet when he looks at me, or smiles, or does anything, all I can think about is him. While I can’t tell him what I’m doing or why, all I want to do is come clean. He knows I’m keeping something from him and it’s a lot more than just my heart.

Travis Russo:
When I heard Maya was returning to Echo Bay for the summer, it was one of few perks of having my veterinary internship cut sort in Denver. I was looking forward to seeing the girl who taught me how to skip rocks and belay down cliff faces. I’d suffered a nascent crush on her when I was nine and she was thirteen. But now? She’s a graceful, poised, young woman with a quick wit and a mind sharper than mine. And yet, there’s something she’s holding back from me, some kind of trouble she’s in and I want to help. My only fear is that I’ll lose myself in the process. Never in my life have I been so aware I might not finish what I started.
