How do you handle your own betrayal when life sends you someone worse off?
Beautiful but broken.
Her own betrayal, something I can’t comprehend, runs so much deeper than ours. Losing everything young made her grow up so fast… faster than she should have had to.
She became a parent to her younger brother and protecting him forced her to build high walls… walls so high she doesn’t want to be saved, she just wants to escape.
She can’t do it alone. They can’t do it alone. Despite her objections, she needs us. They need us.
I begin to break down those walls and I see the full extent of her beauty and resilience.
And it only makes me fall for her that much harder.
She is broken.
She is beautiful.
