I never paid attention to the care packages that were passed around during my deployment until I was bored one day and finally opened the letter I’d found in mine. What I read changed my life. Something about the woman who wrote it called to my soul. I fell in love without ever seeing her face or hearing her voice. Her letter gave me hope on my darkest days after my plane crashed and I was sent home, a broken shell of the man I’d once been. Being home isn’t all bad though, not when it means I can finally track down Georgia. She has no idea who I am, and I don’t know if she’ll be able to accept me, scars and all. But seeing Georgia for the first time only reinforces what I already knew: she is mine.

I have a stalker. One who has been leaving unmarked letters at my door. At first, I wasn’t sure what to think, but he explained he’s the soldier who’d received the care package I sent over a year ago. My letter hadn’t been returnable, so I don’t know how he found me, but now that he has, I can’t say I’m afraid even though I know I should be. Everything he does is to make me happy. I just wish he’d show me his face. He claims I won’t like what I see, but how can that be when I’m falling in love with him? He only comes to me in the dark, and I’m desperate to see him in the light. I want to pull him from the shadows, but I’m afraid of betraying his trust and ruining everything. He says I’m his, but how can we have a future when he doesn’t trust me enough to show me his scars?
