I was a seasoned business traveler, but nothing prepared me for being seated next to my favorite pop star on a plane. Jack Garcia! I might have fan-girled all over him if he hadn’t been anxious about going to a memorial service for a childhood best friend. Surprised to see him as a vulnerable human being, I was even more surprised when he asked me to come along. Now I can add emotional support animal to my resume.
I thought he was sweet and kind, until he crashed my business presentation and almost ruined a year’s worth of work. Now I have to figure out whether it’s worth putting up with his aggravating ways to get to know him. And if I do, will he break my heart? I don’t know that I can handle that again.
