The pale-green alien hadn’t explained why he was rescuing her, but given her alternative, venturing off into the wilderness with the strikingly handsome stranger was the best choice by far. But the escape would not be without consequence, and vicious hunter-trackers would soon be on their trail.
He declared without a hint of doubt that he would keep her safe no matter what, and for some reason she believed him. And to her surprise, it seemed that her unlikely partnership with the strong, capable man sworn to be her protector could very easily evolve into something more.
