A Broken Ember

I am a Ruptor of the Circulus clan. I kill without mercy. That is my purpose.

The De Vita have invaded the bordering territory and abducted our fledglings. Now I have new orders: infiltrate that hated clan. To complete this task, my circle must be broken. It is the mark of an exile and cuts off all ties to my kin. A broken circle is the greatest dishonor one can receive. Such pain matters not. I will do anything to destroy those who hoard life and disrespect death.
When the devastatingly handsome De Vita prince catches a glimpse of the Ruptor in me, I expect derision and hatred. Instead he calls me Mercy and claims me as his. What is more, I’m to compete to be the prince’s mate.
I will do what I was born for. I must find the prince’s weakness and exploit it before I succumb to his charms. My circle is no more, but that that does not make me weak.
