The entire time, Mattias keeps me pressed to his chest. My eyes droop, and the voices slowly fade away. I hear the movement of bodies moving away but don’t react. I embrace the sleep I’ve earned. But most of all, I embrace the man in my arms.
I’m never going to let go.
Epilogue
Mattias
It’s rare to celebrate in the middle of filming, especially when we still have over two weeks of shooting on the island, but we’ve conquered the impossible.
We’ve survived the Singapore Stunt.
The entire production team is spread out across the craps and blackjack tables in the massive casino at Marina Bay. It’s another spectacular wonder that you have to experience to fully appreciate.
Cameron and Wesley are on a winning streak at the table, their rolls putting winnings in the pockets of nearly everyone. Almost everyone.
“Thank you for not dying.” I press my lips to Kimberly’s neck, the morbid joke a necessary release after the day we’ve had.
“It’s not like I had a choice. I promised you something this morning.” I breathe in the expensive fragrance of vanilla and jasmine, a fragrance that Kimberly is a spokesmodel for.
“Which promise? To never leave my side?” She slips her hand into my hand, and I press a kiss to her exposed shoulder. She’s wearing a designer cocktail dress that sparkles in the lights of the casino.
I’m wearing the suit from the shoot, the only outfit I own fancy enough for the high-end casino.
Kimberly pops open the tiny clutch she’s carrying and removes a key card. “Three words—king-sized bed.” She giggles, and I’m soaring again.
The questions still float far back in my head—why me? But I no longer care. She’s staked a very public claim, and I’m going to do everything in my power to make sure she never has a reason to change her mind.
“We’re only going to need half of a bed that size,” I tease and pull her toward the exit.
We’ll probably not get any sleep for a second night. Hell, with her in my life, I no longer need sleep. I no longer need to dream.
I’m living my favorite fantasy every minute of every day.
“Now that the Singapore Stunt is behind us, what challenges do you have for me next? You know they’re going to want a sequel.”
She sounds like Xavier. His congratulatory text asked me a similar question.
“I’m thinking of a little something something. But I’m not sure the lead is capable of performing the demanding moves I have in mind,” I tease, and she picks up on it immediately.
“Well, let’s get upstairs, and let me show you my moves. I think I might recall some of your favorite moves.” She shoots a sexy smirk that crashes right through my heart.
“Even after the day you’ve had, you remember?”
She winks at me. “Muscle memory, babe. It’s a wonderful thing.”
