“Almost?”
“Mmm, I counted nine, including the onesI already had.”
“I guess I have three more to give you.”He lifts me onto the table and runs his tongue along my neck, down my chest, leaving a heated wake of pleasure as he goes.
“No more,” I breathe, as he kisses myinner thigh. I glance around at the room. I feel vulnerable laying on theconference table naked. What if someone walked in on us like last time? My eyeswander to the door, and I pull myself closer, wrapping my arms around Cole, trying to hide myself in him. “What if someone walks in again?” Cole tries topull me back so he can look at me, but I dig my fingers in his back, wanting tostay hidden.
Cole reaches over to the chair grabbinghis dress shirt, dropping it over my head. “Will this help?” I tug my armsthrough the sleeves, nodding, giving him a sheepish smile. Feeling braver nowthat I’m somewhat covered, I reach for the button on Cole’s pants, undoing it.He pushes his pants and boxer briefs down, freeing his straining length. Hespreads my legs, pulling me to the edge of the table. “I want you to know I’vebeen like this since the moment you got off the elevator.”
I give him a devious smile. “Poor guy.” Itake his stiff manhood in my hand, stroking the taut, smooth skin. At the sametime, his fingers part my folds and he slips one inside to make sure I’m readyfor him. “I’m ready,” I groan.
“Guide me there.” His breath is hot on myneck, making my skin prickle and heat. I run the tip of his erection down myfolds to my wet and ready entrance, arching my hips slightly so the tip of himis inside me. Cole groans, and then takes over, easing his way in.
I drop back on my elbows, letting myhead fall back, relishing in the feeling. “Always so good.”
Cole rocks into me and I’m taken awayinto all things Cole.
I watch Cole pull his shirt back on andredo his tie. “What are you doing this afternoon?” He asks.
I smile, biting my lip. He won’t believewhat I have planned. “I’m going shopping.”
His shocked face is worth it. “Really?Where?”
“I have a couple of places I need to go.”
“And those places would be…”
“I have some things to buy for thewedding, and that’s all you need to know. Security’s going with me, so chillout, I’ll be fine.”
I glance at the Spanx laying on thefloor; there’s no way I’m putting those things back on. Cole follows my line ofsight. “Do you want me to help you put those back on?” He gives me a seductivelook.
“No, you’ll just want to take it off assoon as you get it back on.”
“Kate.” Cole stands between my legs, cupping my face. “I need you to understand that your safety is more importantthan any business, than all my business put together. It’s not worth the risk.”
“Why did you have me come to the meetingthen, to embarrass me?”
“God—No, is that what you think? I wouldnever do that. It was to show you we were all in agreement over the issue.”
“Alan voted with me.”
“Yes, he did. Because it was you, and heknew we were all going to vote the other way.”
“You have wiggled your way into my family’shearts. If it was Kit, Race, or Luke, or man, if Cooper ever found someone heloved and was being threatened, I would vote the same way for their loved ones. It’s not worth the risk.”
“It will hurt your business.”
“Yes, we’ll take a hit. But nothing thatwe can’t repair or come back from. I promise.”
“I don’t want to see you compromise yourbusiness ethics for me.”
“Kate, this goes way beyond business andethics. This is a personal attack against you and me. The second Melvin Martinsand his employer Rafael Mezzo made threats against you, he made this personaland not about business.”
“It’s just—I,” Cole quiets me, brushing afinger across my lips.
“No more, baby. It’s done. Let’s moveon.”
I’m not done though; I want to shout. This is a load of shit. I’ll never convince Cole; He’s made his mind up and hewon’t change it. I cross my arms in protest.
