We lay for a while without talking. Hescrubs my feet some more, trying to get them clean. “That tickles.” I laugh.

“She laughs.” And he scrubs harder.

“Oh my heck, Cole, stop. That tickles.” Ilaugh harder, squirming in the tub.

“I’m just getting my wife’s feet clean.”

“Okay, just hurry.”

“Ewe.” I look down at the murky water. “Ithink we need to get out now.”

“Wait here. I’ll grab you a towel.” Istand, and Cole wraps me in a towel, helping me out of the tub.

“I’ve wanted to take a bath in that tub, ever since the first time I saw it.” I smile, thinking of the first time I wasin this suite. Cole dragging me in here, not telling me what was going on.

“Baby,” Cole runs the back of his handdown my cheek, pulling lightly at the front of my towel. “I’ve wanted to dothis.” He picks me up, carrying me through the adjoining door into the bedroom, laying me across it. He removes his towel, climbing on the bed next to me. “Iwanted you ever since the night I first kissed you.” Cole nuzzles his noseacross mine. He presses our lips together with a tender kiss. He flicks histongue out against the seam of my lips and I open up to him. He slides histongue in, and I hum at the now familiar exquisite feeling. His lips are soft, his tongue like silk. Our mouths move together with gentle caress. I lean intohim, wanting more, and he deepens our kiss. I will never tire of Cole’s kisses. He rolls, laying himself across me.

“Are you all right, Kate?” He shifts hisweight to his elbows, looking me over, worry on his face.

“Cole, I—I’m.” I don’t know how to answerhis question. I feel safe now that I’m his in his arms, but thinking back ontoday’s events makes my stomach turn. I run my hand along his cheek and downhis chest. “I don’t know.” I answer honestly. I wrap my arms around his back.“Love me.” I breathe over his lips. “Please, just love me.” Cole kisses meagain. His hands move down my body, pulling my towel free, and he takes me intoextasy.

CHAPTERTEN

“Do you want some more cereal?” Coleasks, putting the bowls back on the food cart. I shake my head no and he crawlsback on the bed next to me.

I rub at Cole’s cheek. “Are you going totell me what happened now?”

He intertwines our fingers, kissing me onthe forehead. “Why don’t you start? I think my story happens in the middle ofyours.”

“Okay. I went with my mom, Olivia, andthe rest of the girls to the Couture Bridal shop to try on wedding dresses. When we finally picked one out, it was almost two, and Becca Howard said shestill needed to get some measurements. I told my mom to go ahead with everyoneto the restaurant. She seemed to have a hard time with the price of the dress, and that Olivia was paying for it.”

“Olivia offered to pay for your dress?”

“Yeah, she practically insisted. Now it’sruined.” I sniff, thinking of the dress and the fifteen thousand dollars Oliviapaid for it.

“Shhh, Cookie, no more tears or I’ll haveto flip you on your back, and make you moan some more.”

“Hmm…now that’s tempting.”

“Cookie,” Cole growls.

“Okay, okay. I told my mom I would ridewith Olivia.” I tell him how I couldn’t find my phone and that there was aknock on my door. Thinking it was Becca, I opened it, but it was Shane. “I justran. I should have screamed rape or something. I thought Olivia and securitywould be out front waiting for me, but they weren’t.”

“Okay, my turn.” Cole kisses me again. “Ireceived a text from you, saying you’d gotten separated from security with anaddress where you were.”

“Dammit, Shane took my phone. This is allmy fault.” I try to break away from Cole and get off the bed, but he stops me.

“Whoa, whoa. No you don’t, Cookie.” Hehitches me up, tossing me on my back, and then straddles me.

“Cole, please.” I hold my hands out, blockinghim.

“Oh no, baby, I warned you.” He grabs myhands, lifting them over my head, pinning them to the mattress with one hand.He grazes his teeth along my neck and trails kisses down to my chest. Hepleasures my nipples, flicking his tongue, teasing me until both peaks arerigid, begging for his touch. “Okay, I’ll be good, I’ll be good,” I groan. Colesits me up and climbs behind me, wrapping his arms around me.

“Yes, she took your phone. Luke calledKeaton, who said you’d stayed behind with Olivia’s detail, but then Oliviashowed up at the restaurant without you and Keaton panicked. So Luke and I tookoff to the address from the text, and Keaton and Morgan headed back to thebridal shop.” He looks at me. “Now you.”

“I had my purse, so I hailed a cab andwent to the Upper House to find you.”

“How did you end up getting arrested?”
