“Yes, I promise.”
“Okay, I will take your word. Don’t letme down.” I give him the ‘I’m watching you’ sign with my fingers.
“You have it, but I’m sorry, I just haveto ask. You don’t have to tell me, but where in the hell did you get all thesestacks of ones?”
I purse my lips. “Cole. I told him Iwanted the winnings from the bet and asked for singles, and I got singles.”
Both Keaton and Morgan laugh.
“Yeah, so funny.” The Escalade pullsaround to the shopping entrance and Keaton gets out, opening the door for us.Laura slings the duffel bag over her shoulder and we head inside. “Okay, wehave to find a clothing store.” I pull at the hem of my dress again.
Laura stops, pointing. “Will a lingeriestore work?”
“Even better.” I grab her hand, pullingher into the shop. We look around the shop. I find a skimpy hot pink pair ofpajamas: it’s a tank top with spandex shorts.
“Over here, Kate.” Laura waves at me. Iwalk over and find a table piled high with panties. Every color of panties youcan imagine. “Holy shit.” Laura holds up a skimpy pair of lime green underwear.“These are expensive.”
“Holy shit is right. Welcome to my world. But no worries.”
“No worries?” Laura drops the pantiesback onto the table.
“Nope.” I lean in so I can whisper. “Youhave a bag full of money.”
Laura straightens up, smiling, and picksthe lacy intimate back up. “Oh yeah. But isn’t it yours?”
“Nope, I don’t need it. I have AmericanExpress.” I tilt my head, sticking my tongue out at her. I dig through thepanties and pick out a couple.
“Hey Kate, it’s almost eight.” Laurawaves the time on her phone at me.
“Oh, shoot.” I grab one more pair andthen head up to check out.
We walk out of the lingerie store. “Okaychick now where are we going?” Laura taps her fingers against her hip.

“Hells bells, yes I am. Come on.” I turnaround and see Keaton standing against the wall across from the shop. He justsmiles.
There is a guy standing behind a glasscounter. “Hello ladies, how can I help you?”
“We have appointments.”
The guy scans through his appointmentbook. “Kate Holt and Laura Lennox.”
“Yep. That’s us.”
