“Means we did our job,” Porter replied happily. “Up top.” I glanced up just in time to see him and Alden high five above my head.
“Men,” I sighed mockingly.
“You adore us,” Alden stated matter-of-factly.
I smiled and snuggled down between them better as exhaustion overtook me. “Yes I do.” In so many more ways than one.
“Good. We adore you too, sweetheart,” Porter responded, kissing my temple.
I wasn’t sure if it took mere seconds or minutes, but with both men turning into me to hold me close and cuddle me between them, I was fast asleep in no time.
Iawakened to something heavy draped over me from my stomach all the way down my body. When I tried to wiggle out from under it, something tightened around me.
“Stop moving. You’re so comfortable,” a deep voice mumbled against the blankets covering my stomach.
I glanced down and saw Darren had draped his body down mine and was currently snuggling my waist. Laughing lightly at him, I threaded a hand through his short hair and massaged his scalp.
“You just get home?” I asked quietly, noticing Alden and Porter were still fast asleep on either side of me.
“Mmhmm, so tired.”
I chuckled and sat up to place a kiss on top of his head. “Want me to come nap with you for a bit?”
He shook his head slowly then sat up. “I wish but you have to get up and get dressed.”
I scrunched my brows together in confusion. “Why?”
Darren shot glares at the two sleeping men. “Should’ve known the dumbasses would forget.” He sighed and rubbed a hand down his face. “The annual Firefighter Gala Fundraiser is coming up in a few days and you need a formal dress for it. Mama Torres is taking you so you can shop for one together. Idiots One and Two were supposed to bring it up to you last night when they took you out.”
I giggled and glanced between the guys. “Yeah, we got distracted.”
“Clearly,” Darren remarked, a smirk firmly on his face showing he wasn’t really that upset with the two of them.
I wrapped my arms around his shoulders and pressed my lips to his. “How about tonight I stay with you to punish them for forgetting?”
Darren laughed and hugged me. “I like the way you think, sweetheart.” With a swift motion he stood, not releasing me as he did so I had to curl my legs around him like a naked spider monkey.
“Let’s get you a nice shower so you can get ready,” he told me playfully, walking with me toward the bathroom. I caught sight of Porter’s arm wrapping around Alden’s shoulders just before the door closed behind us, throwing me into a fit of giggles.
After a lengthy—andverysatisfying—shower with Darren, he went to go catch some sleep while I rushed to get ready.
Just as I was finishing, the other two finally had woken up and abruptly separated upon seeing they were cuddling each other. When I bellowed out a laugh I was given two very unamused frowns.
“I’m sorry, you were just so cute together I didn’t wanna intrude.”
Porter replied by throwing one of my pillows at me. “You’re evil, sweetheart.”
“Maybe. But that’s what you get for not telling me about the gala or that Mama Torres was taking me dress shopping.” I crossed my arms and smirked at them.
They glanced at each other guiltily, then seemed to forget their aggravation with me entirely.Smart boys.
“Sorry, Soph. We didn’t mean to forget,” Alden apologized, running a hand through his hair nervously.
“Yeah. It’s no excuse, but you’re highly distracting,” Porter added, shrugging sheepishly.
I chuckled and shook my head at them. “Luckily for you, I’m forgiving.” The doorbell rang just as I replied. “And thankfully I’m ready to go just in time. I’ll see you later.”
I quickly gave my two guys a kiss then hurried downstairs to put my shoes on. “Coming!” I hollered as I wrestled the flats onto my feet, then opened the door.
