I press my tip against her opening, and she wriggles underneath me. I let myself sink into her warmth, and the deeper I get, the more she moans. When I’m fully seated inside her, I start to move in and out of her. “You’re so tight.”

She runs her hands in her hair as I thrust into her faster. Her face is a picture of pleasure as she arches her back, meeting me thrust for thrust. She’s so beautiful when she’s like this.

You know you want to.

“No.” I growl.

“Stay with me, Sai.” she moans. I place both of her hands over her head, holding them there as I fuck her hard enough that she screams. Her hips buck off the bed, and she begs me for more. I pull out of her and flip her onto her stomach. Standing, I tug her to the edge of the bed.

“Face down, ass up, baby.” I tell her, and she does as she’s told. I slip into her again, and she feels so good like this. I wrap my hands around her hair and tug on it as I pound into her. She moans out an orgasm, and I know I’m not going to last much longer. I pull out of her just as I’m about to explode, painting her pretty ass with my cum. I pick her up by the waist, and she giggles as I walk us to the shower, turning on the water. I’ve never managed this, being with a woman in this way without the usual extras. I hold her face in mine and plant a kiss on her lips.

“I don’t know what you’re doing to me, Kennedy.”

She reaches around my waist and holds onto me without a word as the warm water cascades around us.

“We’ll get through this, Sai. I don’t know how, but we will.”

“I don’t know what I did to deserve you. I really don’t. But you’re here, and there is a part of me that can barely believe it.” I want so much to be that man, the one she can trust with her heart and soul. A man who doesn’t have the demons that I do. But how can I be him, when all I know is me?

I have no idea what lies ahead of us, but if this beautiful, kind-hearted, good soul is with me, then I can at least try to face it.

We reach the mainland, and I immediately buy a floral dress and lose Sai’s tracksuit. I do not want to be walking around here looking like I’ve just run away from home.

“Hey, can I borrow your phone to make a call real quick?” I left mine in Ravi’s car.

“Sure, I’ll get us some water.” He hands me his phone, disappearing into a shop.

I call my mother’s number and reach her voicemail yet again. “Hey mom, It’s me, your only daughter, needing to speak to you. Call me when you get this. Love you.”

“You all right?” Sai asks as he approaches.

“Never better.” I smile up at him, but I can’t shake that niggling feeling that something is wrong.

We enter what looks to be a market district. The entire place is abuzz with people selling everything from fresh fruit and vegetables to souvenirs. Sai and I walk hand in hand through the crowd, and he tells me little snippets of information he left out about the person he’s meeting. Sai stops at one of the stalls and hands over a piece of paper to an elderly woman selling spices. She looks between the two of us, her eyes resting on me for longer than is comfortable. She and Sai speak Turkish, so I don’t understand a word they’re saying.

When they’re done, Sai takes my hand and leads me back the way we came from. “If I ask you to go back to the yacht and stay there, will you do it?”

I fold my arms across my chest. “What did she say?”

He runs his hands through his hair. “That I cannot see who I need to see if you’re with me.”

I sigh. “Then I’ll go back to the yacht to wait for you.”

“Do you promise?” he asks, wrapping his hands around my waist.

“I do. I’d never stand in your way.” I tip my head, and he places a soft kiss on my lips. I want to tell him that I’m falling hard. I want to tell him that I trust him, even though I’m scared. I look into his gorgeous eyes, and I don’t see a perfect man. When I’m with Sai, I’m terrified of what lives inside him, but I know that he’ll fight his way to me, that he won’t hurt me again.

Instead I wish him good luck and start to walk away toward the yacht. I look back, and he waves at me. I have no idea what the woman said to him, but I know that whatever it was had concerned him. But I’ll do as he asked and wait for him. And maybe when he finds what he’s looking for, the real Sai Shah will find me.

“Well, if it isn’t the charming Kennedy Edwards.” I come to a stop and turn toward Deniz Veer. What the hell is he doing here? Probably coming to piss of Sai. “Amy is worried about you. You just disappeared from her engagement party.”

“Yeah, I had things to do. But she knew I was leaving tonight, and she has Henry now.”

He laughs. “Things aren’t as simple here as they are in England, Kennedy.”
