I guess I need to confront them. But not now. Not today.

Today I’m going to be a professional.

But after the meeting…I’m going to give them what-for.

How long were they planning to let me wonder?

Not that I don’t want them to claim me. I mean, this is a win-win situation, right? They get sex, I get sex. There are no strings. For any of us.

But I’m going to call the shots here.

They might have claimed my wishes. But I’m the one giving the orders.

CHAPTER NINE

COLE

Marcus and Gabe argue while I watch Margo get out of her car.

“You should have told us,” Marcus hisses.

“I was going to!” Gabe defends himself. “But with all the preparation for the festival, I just haven’t had the time.”

“You couldn’t have taken five seconds to send a text?”

“Guys, guys,” I murmur. “She’s coming.”

They fall silent and Margo saunters up to us. She glares a little in our direction, and I can’t help but smirk.

She’s not stupid. She’s going to figure out what’s going on here, if she hasn’t already. It’s one of the things I noticed once I finally read past her pictures: her business savvy.

She’ll keep things professional today.

We’ll see about tomorrow.

She walks past us into Town Hall and I follow behind her first even as Marcus tries to beat me to the door. I stick out my tongue at him as I walk by and he gives me a murderous glare.

That’ll probably earn me a punch later, but it’s worth it to walk behind Margo Reyes.

Good God, the ass on her.

She sits down in one of the chairs that Suzanne has ordered one of her poor interns to put out, and I sit next to her.

She stiffens.

“Didn’t realize you’d come to the planning meeting yourself. Busy guy like you.”

“Are you kidding? Of course I’m here. The whole town will be here. It’s good for business.”

She snorts. “As if you need more money.”

“One can never have enough money, Margo. Or enough fun.”

She glances at me.

“Do you really believe that?”

I blink, surprised at the question. My mouth goes dry.
