“Mm,” he grunts, adding pressure, picking up his pace. “Don’t come yet, Kitten.”

“Please… I’m so close…”

Cain thrusts his hips forward, pressing us further into the mattress, disallowing any movement. But even the pressure of his cock against my pussy has me nearly coming apart.

Our breaths mix as we pant and grip onto each other. I feel his cock thicken, then he rocks his hips in small, hard thrusts. His middle tightens, his lip curls up in a snarl, and as I feel his cock begin to pulse, he shoves his hand down, aiming his essence right on top of my pussy.

“Ahhh,” I moan as Cain slides his fingers through his cum and shoves it deep inside of me with three of his fingers.

“Tell me you’ll let me fill you up,” Cain growls, then bites my lip.

“I’ll let you fill me up.”

“You’ll let me have my way with you until you’re carrying our baby.” He bites me again. His fingers are pressing and pumping in and out of me at an increasing pace.

“I want you to have your way with me.” I chase after his lips, but he holds me down to watch me for a beat. “I’ll carry our baby.”

“Good girl,” he growls, then crashes his lips to mine. Cain shoves his fingers deep inside of me, then presses his thumb to my clit, sending me over the edge.

“Ahh!” I buck, my abs tightening, my walls clenching and unclenching around his fingers. My fractured breaths sputter from between our lips, my body falling from the release.

Cain keeps his hold on me while I ride out my orgasm. Gently pressing his lips to mine in slow, soft kisses until my body relaxes in his hold. He keeps me bound while he cleans us with a wet cloth, then helps me get my boxers back on before taking the belt off. He changes into his sweats and hoodie, locks the caravan door, and dims the lantern before crawling into bed with me.

“Is that really what you want?” I whisper, pressing back into his body as he wraps himself around me.

“What?”

“To have children with me?”

“More than anything.” He presses his lips to my shoulder, and I smile. I’m grateful to be hidden in the dark.

More than anything.

These past few weeks have been perfect.

Too perfect.

Every morning, I wake up and find a new craft or keepsake waiting for me on the inside of my tent. Some days it’s just a cute mandala of woven grass, a couple of days after we got back from dropping off Aria, he left a rock with a beautifully engraved A on it. Today, as I’m going through my notes on the clipboard, I can’t help the stupid smile that keeps showing through when I see the bracelet he left me this morning. Twigs woven together and bound with wire. It’s simple, it’s beautiful, and I’m never taking it off.

Things have been quiet, no major injuries. A couple of dehydration cases, nothing that can’t be easily fixed.

“Excuse me!”

I shoot up at the sound of a woman’s voice. A blonde woman wearing black leggings and a black long-sleeved shirt walks right past the worksite perimeter. I know her… Morgan.

“Oh, hi Morgan!” I get her attention as I trot into her path. “This is a restricted area. EOD and medics only.” I hold my clipboard to my chest, occupying my fingers by twirling the bracelet around my wrist. She glances around the camp, then narrows her eyes as she looks down her nose at me. She’s only a few inches taller, but it’s enough.

“Ugh, he was talking about you, wasn’t he?” Disgust drips from her words, and I purse my lips. She’s never liked me. One Christmas, I overheard her ask Caius if they could strip me of my title and give it to someone who does more for the aristocracy. Caius actually defended me, which was nice. He doesn’t usually stick up for anyone.

“Pardon?”

“Never mind. Where’s Cain?”

“He’s out clearing right now…” My chest tightens, and I twirl the bracelet again.

“Can you get a message to him for me?” Her words bite; she sounds pissed. I grab my pen from my clipboard and nod.

“Tell him to meet me at the pub tonight. I want to continue where we left off before he goes back to Aurelia.”
