His sentence ended with a punch.
Allison flinched as the man was knocked off his chair and crashed to the floor. Her eyes widened in shock, and she instinctively drew back from the table. When she looked up, she found Silas standing over the man, his face set in stone and fury burning in his eyes.
Silas didn't give the man a chance to recover. He strode forward and kicked him in the stomach, then did it again, making him double over with a groan of pain.
“Silas!” Allison sprang from her seat and hurried toward him. “Stop it!”
Silas paused, his foot hovering for a moment before he lowered it. His head snapped toward her, and his eyebrows rose in disbelief. When he spoke, his voice was sharp with displeasure.
“Were you enjoying your cozy little date, Ms. Herrera? Or do you need more time with this fucker?”
Allison went rigid.
The cold fury in his voice sent a shiver down her spine. She had seen Silas angry before, but she had never witnessed this kind of darkness in him. His expression was terrifying, his eyes so cold and furious that she suddenly understood why people were afraid to cross him. It wasn't an exaggeration or an empty threat. There was something genuinely frightening about the man standing before her, and for the first time, she felt that fear herself.
Before she could respond, Silas turned back to the man and kicked him again.
The man groaned and tried desperately to shield himself, twisting on the floor in an attempt to dodge the blows. He barely managed to move before Silas's foot struck him again.
“Silas, stop!” Allison pleaded, reaching toward his arm.
But Silas didn't listen. He continued until the man could barely breathe, his groans fading into weak, desperate sounds. Only then did Silas finally step back.
“Frank!” Silas barked, his face dark with fury. “Get this piece of shit out of here, and make sure he never sets foot in this club again. Who the fuck let him in?”
Frank hurried toward the table where Allison and the man had been sitting. He picked up an access card and examined it before turning to Silas.
“It appears he stole Mr. Winston’s access card. I heard Mr. Winston was recently admitted to Bristen Hospital for heart problems. This man may have taken the card from his belongings while he was there.”
“Get on it.” Silas's voice was ice-cold. “Get him out of my fucking sight.”
He snatched a napkin from the table and wiped his hand as though touching the man had left something filthy on his skin.
Frank immediately sprang into action. Two security guards had already arrived and were helping remove the unconscious man from the floor. Frank pulled out his phone and made a call as they dragged him away.
“Yes, we need you to fire someone,” he said into the phone, following the guards with his eyes. “I'll explain everything shortly.”
Within moments, the man was being carried out of the club, and the commotion began to subside.
Silas finally turned toward Allison.
She was still staring at the man being dragged away, shock written across her face. Her eyes followed him until Silas stepped directly into her line of sight, blocking her view. He lowered his head slightly, fixing her with an intense, dark gaze.
“Have you looked at him enough?”
Allison startled and quickly lifted her eyes to his. She swallowed hard, suddenly aware of how close he was and how furious he still looked.
“I was just looking,” she muttered.
Silas stepped closer, his eyes burning into hers. His expression remained dark, his anger far from settled.
“You're willing to go on a date with an asshole like that, but not with me? Why?”
A shiver ran down Allison's spine under his intense gaze. She licked her lips, gathering herself before lifting her chin to meet his eyes.
“I didn't come here willingly. Shane was worried about me because I haven't dated anyone yet, and he was concerned. So, just to put his mind at ease, I agreed to meet this man.”
Silas's expression darkened further, but before he could respond, Allison continued.
