Thursday

Katie

I’m off today. Six your time still good?

Max

It was . . .

Max

Until I just got roped into dinner with my mates. I can cancel though?

Katie

No, don’t cancel! If you already said yes, you should go.

Max

I’m so sorry, Katie. Promise I’m not avoiding you. Are you free any earlier? I could call you from the station?

Katie

Can’t, sorry. Got a bunch of appointments.

Katie

Friday instead?

Max

Yes! Locked in. No more interruptions.

Friday

I spend twenty minutes waiting for his call before finally getting a text.

Max

I fell asleep on the sofa. I’m so sorry.

Max

I’m officially ninety years old.

Katie

That’s actually kind of adorable.

Max

Please don’t tell anyone.

Katie

Your secret is safe with me.

Max
