“Mick.”

“No, because you brought up a whole new issue today. I don’t care if I find a man who’s a biker with your club, the Devil Lancers, or even Corrupt Chrome. That shouldn’t be some arbitrary factor for your approval. My happiness should be.”

“Leave the Corrupt Chrome out of this shit - especially after what happened in September,” Nickel said, his voice stern.

“Fine, but if I found someone who’s part of the Riot, that ought to make you jump for joy because you know damn well that they don’t shove their women around or step out on them.”

“I heard you, Mickayla. But let’s keep this on the level. All of what you said is hypothetical. I’m working on not being so ‘judgy’ as Ivy says.”

“Well, good. If you need help with that, my girl London might have some resources for you.”

“I’ll keep that in mind. You want to go to breakfast?” He paused. “Oh, I see you had…are you getting better at omelets?”

She chuckled. “Not really. I ate the ugly half first, but that part flipped better than the rest.”

“You’ll get there, sis. I’ll see you this afternoon.”

I didn’t come out of her bedroom until I heard the noise of his pipes fade well into the distance. Then, I snatched up my breakfast dishes and strode out to the kitchen.

Mickayla took one look at me, then, “Don’t be mad at me.”

I set my dishes in the sink. “I don’t ever want to hear you talk about Brute’s boy or Volt’s son having an interest in you. And you damn sure need an education about how God-awful the Corrupt Chrome happens to be, because if I hear you mention them - I’m gonna spank you right before I edge you.”

At the look in her eyes, I hissed, “Fuck. You like that idea.”

She held up a hand. “I did not say that.”

“Wild child, you didn’t have to.”

Good for It

Ryan’s unexpected visit brought out Tundra’s apprehension about us being secretive, but it also highlighted his possessive side. And he took me to the bedroom to show me how possessive he could be. We were lounging in my bed after I cleaned up.

“If I don’t get going, I’ll be here all day. Gotta hit the clubhouse for some shit I need to have at the apartment. What are your plans for today?” he asked, rolling out of bed to pull on his jeans.

I sat up. “I have to get some exercise today.”

“What’d we do fifteen minutes ago, woman?”

I grinned. “It’s been six days since I hit the pool. I need to swim.”

His brows drew together. “Your community pool is too damn cold for that.”

“I’m headed to the aquatics center - that pool is heated. You do what you need to today. We can meet up tonight.”

He stared at me for a beat. “That sounds like a plan.”

Half an hour later, I pulled into the aquatic center parking lot and my phone rang. Alexandra’s name was on the display.

“Hey, Lex.”

“Hey. Want to do lunch today?”

“Don’t you have class?”
