I lowered my legs. “Who says? We’re consenting adults. I’ve wanted you for a long time, even if all you’ll give me is one night.”
“Like one night would ever cut it,” he muttered.
I pressed my body into his. “I’m off for four days and since I have zero plans, I’m pretty sure I could squeeze in a four-day fuckfest with you.”
He wheezed out a chuckle while shaking his head.
I eased away from him. “You can think about it while I grab my purse and turn out the lights.” I paused as his earlier words struck me. “You said you don’t want to spend the night at the clubhouse. I’ve got a guest room with a bed, and my place is five minutes away. You’re welcome to crash there, and I’ll bring you back in the morning. Even if you decide I’m not worth the trouble.”
I took two steps away from him when he grabbed my wrist and whirled me back to him. “I didn’t say you weren’t worth the trouble,” he practically growled.
I shrugged a shoulder. “The way I see it, we can spend one night together - or four - and get this out of our system. Nobody has to know. Or, like I said, you sleep it off and I bring you back here - no harm, no foul.”
Though what I didn’t say was that my vibrators would get some thorough usage. Very thorough, now that I knew he was such a great kisser.
He stared at something behind me. “You’re a fucking temptress. Anybody finds out, my brothers will lose their shit. Especially, Gamble, Nickel, and Ricochet.”
He wasn’t wrong about that, but everything was still wrong about that. My dad and my brothers shouldn’t give a damn about me taking a shot on Tundra, and yet, I knew they’d all have issues with it for a variety of reasons. Tundra being twenty years older than me would be the biggest reason. Or maybe the fact he worked at the club-owned stripper bar, but I didn’t care about that.
“They aren’t here, honey. It’s just you, me, and some free time in front of us.”
A devious gleam hit his gorgeous brown eyes. “What’s Lark charge for a bottle of rum? You’re gonna go grab one, I’ll leave the cash on his desk, and then you’re gonna drive me home.”
At his words, my nipples tingled and heat scored through my belly and further south. But I especially loved that he called my place home.
Chapter 4
Report to Good Housekeeping
Mickayla
Real estate surrounding On a Lark was hard to find. For now, I lived in a trailer park. I loved my double-wide, but it was temporary because all the trailers were squeezed so close together you’d hear people’s televisions - amongst other things.
No matter how much I loved my place, it felt strange bringing anyone here. It always forced me to see my home in a different way because all my bad habits seemed obvious. Like I suddenly wondered if I’d put my mail away yesterday, and odds were good I hadn’t.
“What’s the problem?” Tundra asked.
I looked over to him as I pulled into my narrow driveway. “Nothing.”
“Don’t bullshit me, babe. You got all up in your head just now. If you’re having second thoughts, you need to be ‘very clear’ as you said earlier.”
I put the car in park and turned off the engine before I faced him. “Not second thoughts, just worried you’ll think my place is a mess.”
He leaned in close. “Baby, I’m not here to submit a report to Good Housekeeping about the state of your kitchen. I’m here because I want more of what we had at the bar, and I can’t fuckin’ wait to pull your dress down and play with your tits.”
This man. The reference to Good Housekeeping made me want to laugh, but his last sentence had me so hot and bothered, I could only breath out, “Holy smokes.”
“Yeah. Are we gettin’ out of the car now, gorgeous?”
“Damn right we are.”
I stood at my front door to unlock it when Tundra muttered, “It’s got to be close to thirty degrees out here. I can’t believe you didn’t wear a coat.”
I looked over my shoulder at him. “It’s ten feet from the car to the door. No biggie. Bonus for you, my nipples will be extra pointy.”
He reached up my dress and squeezed my thigh. “Hurry up, woman.”
I opened the door on a laugh, then let him inside while I flipped a light switch.
