“I love you, M.”
“Noa.”
This isn’t fucking enough. I need to really show Lana that she has woken up the Devil she thinks I am. I look to my right and see a metal crowbar, for God knows what reason, and I start smashing his leg with brute force. The weapon is rigid and heavy, and perfect for what I’m doing.
“Someone! Help me!” Guard number three cries out, and I revel in his desperation. It’s like pouring oil on fire.
“Where.” Thwack. “Is.” Thwack. “She?” Every crunch of his bones heightens my motivation to see this through to the end.
“I don’t know!” he answers me as he is lying on the floor, taking it all in. The estate is probably huge, because I haven’t seen anyone come in yet. The last hit to his leg is the one that makes me smile like a madman–his bone is sticking out. Without hesitation, I kneel and use all the strength I have to break off the bone.
“You are sick!” I roll my eyes as I get what I want, a piece of his bone. His body is shaking in pain, but I don’t give a shit. I roll him over, and he is crying– oh, how sweet.
“Where are the rest of the guards?” I ask as I sit on top of him, my machete strapped against my back again. He shakes his head violently.
“I’m going to die anyway; why would I tell you anything?” Fair question. But I need him to talk as he is losing consciousness.
“I will show you mercy by killing you right now, instead of prolonging it.” His resolve is gone, and the loyalty he had for Lana along with it.
“Two on the second… floor… three others… are… in the… garden.” And he is lifeless, but his heart is still beating as I put my fingers against his neck. Feeling his pulsing heartbeat makes me irate. Fuck this. I plunge his bone into his neck and slice it across. Spurts of blood ensue, and I let it rain on me.
But no time to waste. I have two other guards to take out.
***
After I take out the other two guards, I throw them down the stairs. I don’t care enough to drag them downstairs. Their bodies thump to the ground, and I return to scan the second floor. Now I need Hana, and I turn on my earpiece again.
I am met with my cousin’s anger. “You motherfucker! I’m going to kill you before Lana can.”
“Hana–”
“No! Don’t you ever do that again.” Her caring heart is what’s going to get her into trouble. Her ruthlessness is as big as her kindness.
“Fine. I need your help,” I tell her. A scoff comes through my earpiece.
“Now you need my help? I watched through the cameras, and it didn’t seem that way.”
“Not now!” I snap at her, time is of the essence. “I don’t give a shit about Lana’s weapons. I need to know where her study is.”
“On it.” I can hear Hana typing away, and after a couple of seconds she answers me. “It’s two doors down to your right.” I listen to her instructions and open the doors to Lana’s study. It’s like I stepped into her heart, because it looks so cold and clinical. Everything is so precise and neat. Her large desk highlights the room, and I know everything I need to know is in that desk. I rummage through it, and that’s when I find it–my new weapon that will take her down.
Files with the information on all her employees.
“Hana, I got it.”
“Good. Now, get back home because according to Lana’s schedule I found on her computer, the guards should be back from their garden run in about twenty minutes.”
“On my way. Over.” But I don’t leave immediately. I make my way downstairs and arrange for the guards to lie beside each other. Good, they are all dead–
“H-h-help me.” My eyes widen, and I let out an amused chuckle.
“I’ll get back to you in a moment.”
“N-no.”
“Y-yes,” I mock to him. After seventeen minutes, I have done what I wanted to do. I carved M into all of these sons of bitches’ chests. This is my best call-off sign to date. Before I leave, I turn my attention to the guard who is hanging onto life.
“I need you to stay alive for her. And one more thing.” I straighten my back, grab the folders, and head for the door. “M was here.”
