“Did Adam tell you that?” Zane asked.

“I don’t want to talk about it,” Avi said, grimacing.

Zane laughed, shaking his head. “I don’t know. I’ll talk to Felix first, then Asa.”

“If you’re serious, we can talk to them tonight after we finish our playtime. Everyone is bound to be in a great mood.”

There was no hesitation in his voice. No concern about money or space or logistics. Just certainty that if Zane wanted something, they would figure it out together. Maybe that just came from a place of money never being an issue. Money bought food and nannies and security.

Zane nodded, then yawned, setting his controller down. “Can I take a little nap?”

“Sure.”

Zane pulled the blanket higher up on his chest, watching from beneath half-closed lids as Avi switched the game from Stardew Valley to some first-person shooter.

The warmth of Avi’s naked body and his soft grunts every time he killed someone easily lulled Zane to sleep. The sounds blended together into something oddly comforting. The clicking of buttons. The low hum of the television. The occasional curse under Avi’s breath.

He felt Avi’s chin rest on his head.

His arms stayed around him, holding him close even as he played.

“Night, Zaney.”

“Night…”

The last thing Zane felt before sleep claimed him was Avi pressing a kiss into his hair.

“…then—oh, holy fuck—she said it was a ‘bold choice of color,” Felix said in a haughty accent, breath breaking in the middle as he sank down onto Asa’s lube-slick fingers, “for someone my age,” he finished breathlessly. “My age! Like I’m—oh fuck, right there—like I’m thirty-five or something.”

Asa gasped in mock horror. “Not thirty-five.”

“Shut up.”

Asa’s hand wrapped around Felix’s throat, not squeezing, just holding him in place, forcing him to meet his gaze. “What was that?”

“I said ‘shut up,’” Felix taunted. “What are you gonna do about it?”

“If you were Zaney, I’d slap your face and spit in your mouth,” Asa growled. “Then fuck you raw until you cried.”

Felix didn’t have a pain fetish, but his cock twitched at Asa’s bold words and they both saw it.

Asa arched his brow, tightening his grip on Felix’s throat. “Oh, really?”

“Try it and I’ll castrate you with my fingernails,” Felix spat.

His words lost their bite a moment later as Asa twisted his fingers inside Felix and he whimpered high and loud, earning a low rumble of satisfaction from his sadistic playmate.

It was no secret to anyone that Asa liked to play with his food before he ate it. Felix had learned that long ago. Once upon a time, Felix’s own husband had been on Asa’s plate and he’d loved every moment of it. He even made Felix recreate some of the scenarios he’d played out with Asa when they were too young and dumb to know what they were doing was something others found taboo.

But Asa didn’t just like to play, he liked to watch the effect he had on his prey, whether that was fear, or pleasure, or pain. Like now. Asa forced a third finger in with the first two before Felix was ready, knocking a cry loose. The burn was sharp, radiating, his body reeling from being stretched too far too fast. Felix’s face twisted into a grimace, his teeth bared.

He dug his nails into Asa’s bare chest, not enough to break skin but enough to pull a hiss from him.

Felix watched with some satisfaction as red lines bloomed in the wake of his touch. This was just how sex was between him and Asa. Two animals fighting for dominance. A wolf and a tiger circling each other, biting and tearing at each other, Felix pretending he stood a chance against Asa, but both knowing he’d give in at the end.

That didn’t mean he didn’t enjoy the fight. It was all part of the fun. This was his and Asa’s love language.

This and gossip.
