The timber door swung inward before I got the chance to knock.
My breath hitched at the sight of Ana standing barefoot in the entryway in a silk camisole and a loose robe.
My cock twitched; fuck, she was magnificent.
Her beauty hit me hard, making my chest tighten as a fierce wave of need slammed into my core.
‘D,’ she whispered as I stepped across the threshold and hauled her into my arms.
‘So good to see you,’ I said, gliding my hands down her back.
She buried her head in my torso, and we held each other tight for a long moment.
The scent of her vanilla shampoo flooded my senses, and I breathed it in like oxygen.
She finally pulled back and tugged at my hands.
‘Come, you probably need to eat,’ she murmured.
I thought about it, and my lips quirked. ‘I’m starved. Couldn’t get anything down on the plane for some reason.’
Untangling my hold, she guided me down the short hallway to the living room, our fingers still intertwined.
I took note of the sway of her hip and the bounce of her tits under her cami and almost lost my shit.
‘It’s just past midnight, handsome, so Raff’s already fast asleep upstairs in his bedroom.’
‘I gathered,’ I said.
Ana made me sit on the dining room table beside her expansive kitchen, pulled a plate of leftover chicken salad from the refrigerator, and poured me a generous glass of white wine.
She also got me a fresh bread roll, slathered it with butter the way I liked, and set it on a dish close to me.
She then served herself wine and sat across from me, feet tucked under her butt, in near silence as I ate.
Our eyes kept meeting across the table, the charge between us wild.
Every subtle shift in her expression mirrored the same pull tearing through my chest.
‘Stay the night, honey,’ she murmured, setting her empty glass down when I was done eating. ‘You’re too exhausted to drive back to your place.’
‘Woman, no need to convince me, I’m shattered,’ I said.
Hell, all I wanted to be was with her.
While she cleaned up after me in the kitchen, I headed back out to the car, grabbed my duffel bag and instrument case, and went back in.
Leaving my sax downstairs, we locked up, turned off the lights, and walked upstairs together.
I veered toward the guest bedroom.
That’s when Ana caught my wrist, her fingers tightening as she tugged me toward her primary.
Shock hit me, but my heart soared.
Inside, I set my bags down, and as Ana settled into bed, I stripped down to my grey boxers and a white ribbed vest.
‘I’m clean,’ I murmured as I climbed in beside her. ‘I used the first-class shower on the plane before we landed.’
