It’s right there.
I walk to the window.
“You really did all this for me?”
Grimm comes up behind me. His arms circle my waist.
“I told you. I choose you.”
I lean back against him. For a while, neither of us says anything. We just stand there.
And I realize something. This castle is beautiful.
Old. Magical. But before today? It was just a place he existed.
Now there are people downstairs laughing. And I’m already mentally reorganizing his completely inadequate Alchemy storage system.
This is a home now—our home.
His chin settles on my head.
“Happy?”
I turn in his arms.
“Very.”
“Good.”
“But there's still something missing.”
His eyes narrow.
“What?”
I grin.
“The crown.”
Grimm groans.
“I knew this was coming.”
“Come on. You moved an entire castle across state lines using magic, but showing me one crown is too much?”
“It's ceremonial.”
“So?”
“It's several hundred years old.”
“So?”
“It isn't a toy.”
“I never said I wanted to play with it.”
His expression tells me he knows me too well.
