And why the hell did that growl sound exactly like—

No.

Absolutely not.

We're not touching that one. He stares at me like he's waiting for an answer.

Waiting for me to say something.

Unfortunately, my brain has left the building.

Gone.

Goodbye.

Forward my mail.

Because Grimm is standing in front of me.

The same man who disappeared after the best night of my life.

The one who bit me. Who left me with a mark that hasn't faded and enough unanswered questions to fill an entire semester.

And who apparently dresses like Prince Fucking Charming when he's not wearing suits that cost more than my car.

The man who just called me his mate.

Mate? Nope. Can't process that yet.

My heart is pounding so hard the enchanted lights sewn into my gown are flashing along with it.

Traitors.

I want to slap him. I want to kiss him. I want to demand answers. I want to check that he's real.

I want—oh, shit. Damn him.

Because there it is. The one thing I don't want to admit.

I'm happy.

Stupidly, embarrassingly happy.

The second I heard his voice, something inside me that has been curled into a miserable little ball for weeks sat up and screamed, He's back!

I missed him.

Asshole.

I missed his stupid face. His stupid voice. His stupid eyebrow.

I missed the way he looks at me like I'm the only person in the room.

And now he's here looking like he stepped out of some princess fantasy I didn't even know I had until five seconds ago.

While I'm dressed like an actual princess.

Oh, that's not symbolic at all.
