He bites me.
My eyes fly wide. His are locked on mine.
Magic explodes around us.
Not metaphorically.
Actually explodes.
Every light in my bedroom flares at once.
The windows rattle.
Power races through my body, hot and wild, and whatever shock I should be feeling gets swallowed by a wave of sensation so overwhelming I can't hold on to a single coherent thought.
I cry out his name. Grimm's arms lock around me. The world goes white at the edges.
And somewhere inside all that magic, pleasure, and insanity, one thought manages to surface.
He bit me.
That seems important.
Really, really important.
Unfortunately, I'm in absolutely no condition to consider the repercussions.
Not when Grimm is holding me like he'll never let me go.
Not when that possessive growl is vibrating through both of us.
Not when my magic seems to be wrapping itself around his and refusing to let go.
For one breathless moment, everything stops.
Grimm goes utterly still. His face remains buried against my shoulder.
“Grimm?”
He lifts his head. His eyes are still glowing. But the expression in them has changed.
The hunger is gone.
In its place is something that makes my heart stumble.
Shock.
Then horror.
His gaze drops to my shoulder.
I follow it.
“Oh.”
Two unmistakable marks stand out against my skin. I look at them. Then at him.
“Okay.”
