"Of course not."
"It means I'll tell you why."
I almost smile. Almost.
Then Sayer speaks.
"The walls are moving."
Everything stops.
"What?"
He looks around the room.
"The feeling."
His face tightens.
"It's back."
Rhett is immediately alert.
"What do you feel?"
"Like..."
Sayer struggles.
"Like the house is changing."
Everything looks normal. Which has become the least comforting thing possible.
"Where?"
Sayer closes his eyes.
"The living room."
Then—
Every electronic device in the cottage activates.
The television turns on. Static. The lights pulse. My laptop freezes. Rhett's phone begins ringing. Not a normal ringtone. A distorted version of the Hollow Truths notification sound.
Mine does the same. Sayer's too.
Three phones. Three identical screens.
UNKNOWN SIGNAL
I grab mine. The screen glitches. Numbers appear. Coordinates.
I stare.
"What is that?"
Rhett looks over my shoulder. Coordinates. A location. My stomach twists.
