“You will not remember what happened to you today but you will remember the pain. If you ever come near this store or her again, you will feel that pain all over again. You will also know that I’m going to find you, shove my fist down your throat, and snatch your heart out your fucking chest. The same goes if you even think about her or this store. Understand?”
“I understand,” Micah stated, nodding.
Glamour…
“Uri, come here.” I moved closer and Kyron turned the kid’s face in my direction. He screamed in pain, trying to turn his head.
“I don’t want you to rip my heart out. I can’t look at her.”
Kyron released Micah’s face and leaned in closer. “Get the fuck out of here,” he growled, letting him go. Micah stumbled to his feet, using the wall for balance as he moved as fast as he could to leave.
Kyron’s brother laughed, and when I looked in his direction, he shook his head, smiling.
“The fuck you laughing for?” Kyron sneered at his brother who smiled wider.
“Ain’t no hope for you, fam. She has your ass hemmed up.” He glanced at me. “Nice to meet you, Uri. I’m Hale. I’m going back to the truck and making sure ol’ boy doesn’t pass out before he reaches his car. Calm him down.”
He looked at Kyron. “Hurry your ass up too before Cap comes looking for us.”
“Your brother?” I said amusedly
“Fuck Hale. Tell me what happened.”
I sighed. “His girlfriend broke up with him because she was finally ready to accept that she likes women and not men and he believes it’s my fault.”
“Why is he putting that on you?”
“She came to my store asking for a reading. I gave her one that helped her work through some things. One of those being her sexuality. He thinks I put a spell on her because that’s a lot easier than accepting he was never her type. His little ego is crushed.”
“People come at you like that a lot?”
“No.”
He pinched my chin and tilted my head back, brushing his lips over mine. “You better be glad I can feel that you’re not lying.”
I grinned and leaned into him. “My store is safe and nobody bothers me, but even if they did, I can protect myself.”
“Yeah, I noticed. That isn’t the point. No one touches you. Ever.” His brows dipped in and his expression was stoned over and serious. “Come on, I have to get back to the station. You sure you’re good?”
“I’m fine.”
He lifted me around his waist and I smiled. “I can walk.”
“I’m aware.” His mouth was on mine again as he walked us around the building to my storefront. I needed to find my phone but wouldn’t argue with him right now. The vamp was already too wound up. I would find it after he left.
“Go to my house when you get off.”
“You won’t be there.”
Kyron wouldn’t be done with his shifts for another day and a half since his current rotation was forty-eight on, ninety-six off. These schedules were going to kill me with having no access.
“Uri, go to my spot,” he asserted.
“Fine but don’t get mad about me going through your stuff.”
“Do what you need to, and when you don’t find shit, don’t be looking crazy.”
“And when I do find something and cast a spell to block whoever she is from having access, don’t you be looking crazy.”
