John forces Donald to his knees.

Donald looks at Simon with hatred.

“You lost everything.”

Simon turns his head.

“If I lost it, so did you.”

A warning horn sounds inside the Argent Star.

The ship shifts against the rocks.

Marquez’s voice cuts through every radio.

“Structural movement detected. All teams evacuate.”

“Captain Marquez is still aboard,” Ben says.

“So is the third hostage,” Scott adds.

“I’m sending Team Two through the lower bow.”

“There isn’t time.”

“There has to be.”

Ben hauls Simon to his feet and shoves him toward Mark.

“Take him.”

Mark locks restraints around Simon’s wrists.

John secures Donald.

Ben turns toward the bridge door.

Piers blocks him.

“You’re not going below.”

“He helped Calle’s father.”

“And your leg is barely holding you.”

“Then don’t let me fall.”

Piers stares at him.

“Someday, I’m going to let you make one intelligent decision without fighting me.”
