Caspian: The Not So Friendly Ghost

When Yonas closed his eyes, I stared at him for a few seconds, genuinely trying to understand the level of disrespect I was witnessing.
Oh, you got me all the way fucked up!
This mothafucka was in my bed, in my house, looking at a picture of my woman and having himself a private little moment like this was some romantic weekend retreat.
Had he forgotten about the legal investigation?
The lawyers?
The hundreds of thousands of dollars he had already spent trying to keep himself out of prison and his career from going to hell?
Apparently, he had found some stress relief.
Yonas was still enjoying himself, his eyes fixed on Lakelyn’s picture as his breathing grew heavier.
“Damn, you so fuckin’ pretty,” he mumbled under his breath, barely loud enough for me to hear. “Miss yo’ ass. Miss that pussy too.”
My whole face tightened.
His hand started moving faster beneath the covers, and I stared at him in complete disbelief while he kept looking at a picture of my woman like he had forgotten whose house he was laying up in.
I slowly shook my head.
I wasn’t about to let him get a happy ending on my woman’s account.
I had tolerated the suitcases, the unpacking, and even the nigga sitting at my table and eating my woman’s cooking but looking through old pictures of Lakelyn while he was already plotting to win her back was a little too comfortable for my liking.
Whatever little vacation Yonas thought he was having at 1847 Blackthorn Drive had just come to a quick mothafuckin’ end. There wasn’t a damn thing left for Yonas to do in that house except gather his shit and put some distance between himself and my family.
Unfortunately for him, I had just found a new reason to make his ass leave.
The TV came on at full volume, and a loud commercial blasted through the room.
“What the fuck?!”
Yonas nearly jumped out of his skin. He scrambled for the remote and shut the TV off, then sat there breathing hard while looking around the room. Eventually, he settled back against the pillows.
I waited.
His phone came back up, and the TV came back on… louder.
“Man!”
Yonas snatched up the remote and shut it off again before pointing directly at the screen.
“Stay the fuck off!”
I nodded.
Tell your dick the same thing, my nigga.
He tossed the remote facedown on the nightstand and turned back toward his phone.
I made the TV come on again.
That time, instead of a commercial, the screen displayed a photograph of me… a real nice one too.
Black suit… serious as hell.
