Caspian: The Not So Friendly Ghost

“You gotta be fucking kiddin’ me!”
I damn near folded over laughing.
Then the water blasted back on full force and caught him directly in the face.
Yonas snatched the shower door opened, grabbed his towel, and hurried out. “Man, fuck this shower!”
Yonas dried himself off while mumbling under his breath, still blaming the shower like the plumbing had personally decided to ruin his night. By the time he stepped in front of the bathroom mirror, steam had covered nearly every inch of the glass, and the opportunity was too damn perfect to ignore.
I moved closer and dragged one finger slowly through the fog.
GET OUT!
Yonas stopped cold.
For several seconds, he stood there with the towel wrapped around his waist, reading the words once, then again, his mouth tightening a little more each time. Then he turned around and searched the bathroom, checking the shower, the doorway, even glancing toward the ceiling before looking back at the mirror.
Nobody was there.
At least, nobody he could see.
The words were still waiting for him.
His brows pulled together. “What the fuck?”
Yonas stepped closer, squinting at the glass before letting out a tired breath.
“Damn, the house got strange-ass alarm clocks too? What, the bathroom got a time limit on how long you can stay in here?”
I stared at him.
An alarm clock?
This nigga would rather believe in a haunted shower timer than admit somebody wanted his ass gone.
At that point, I was one message away from drawing his dumb ass a map to the front door.
Yonas shook his head and grabbed the towel from the counter, wiping the words away with a few hard swipes. “Man, I’m too fucking tired for this shit.”
I waited patiently while he dried the rest of the mirror… then I waited some more.
His ass was still standing there.
Oh. So apparently I hadn’t been clear enough.
The second he tossed the towel aside, I reached toward the glass again and took my sweet time writing every single letter.
GET THE FUCK OUT!
There.
I added the fuck since apparently get out had been too mothafuckin’ vague.
Yonas froze so completely that for a second I thought I had finally gotten through to him. His eyes moved over the words once, then again, and the towel slipped straight from his hand onto the floor.
“Oh, hell nah.”
He backed out of the bathroom fast enough to nearly trip over his own feet, and I followed him into the bedroom.
