Caspian: The Not So Friendly Ghost

My hands locked around her waist as I pulled her down against me, keeping her close while her body tightened around mine. Her name left my mouth somewhere between a groan and a curse, and I buried my face against her neck as I came inside her.
For a few seconds, the only sounds in the room were our uneven breathing and Granny Liz’s morning music drifting up from downstairs, loud enough to remind us that the rest of the house was already awake even if we weren’t ready to face it yet.
Lizzy was Lakelyn’s grandmother, but since Lakelyn called her Granny, I’d taken to calling her Granny Liz.
When I could think again, Lakelyn was collapsed against my chest, face tucked into the side of my neck, still catching her breath.
I ran my hand down her spine, felt her shiver.
My phone was buzzing somewhere on the floor where I’d thrown it the night before.
I ignored it.
There were always calls, always meetings, always somebody who needed something from me. Right then, the only thing that mattered was the woman sprawled across me like she belonged there… because she did.
Lakelyn mumbled something against my skin, warm breath tickling my neck. “We need to get up.”
But she didn’t move, and neither did I.
“In a minute,” I said.
“You said that twenty minutes ago.” Her voice was muffled, lazy.
“And I meant it then too.”
Lakelyn lifted her head enough to look at me, eyes still soft and satisfied, mouth swollen from my teeth.
I wanted to start all over again. I wanted to flip her ass onto her back and make her forget about the time, about my meetings, about everything except the way I could make her feel.
My hand slid down to cup her ass, and she immediately smacked my chest.
“Babe, stop.”
I grinned up at her. “Stop what?”
“Looking at me like that.” She narrowed her eyes, but her lips twitched.
“Like what?”
“Like you’re thinking about going at it again.”
I was.
That girl saw through all the shit I showed everybody else, straight down to the parts of me I didn’t let anyone touch. It made her dangerous in a way that had nothing to do with guns or money or the kind of business I handled in the streets. She could wreck me without even trying.
I traced lazy circles on her lower back. “Granny Liz already knows I’m up here. And who’s to say she hasn’t heard us already.”
“I guess we’re about to find out, huh?”
Lakelyn pushed herself up, and I let her go reluctantly, watching as she climbed off me and reached for the sheet.
She wrapped it around herself, suddenly acting all modest like I hadn’t just had unrestricted access to every inch of her body.
I sat up, still naked, in no hurry to get dressed. “Why you rushing me out, anyway?”
Lakelyn faced me, clutching the sheet to her chest. “Because you have business to tend to, and I have things to do that do not involve you being late because you can’t keep your hands to yourself.”
“Yo’ fast ass wasn’t complaining about my hands just a few minutes ago. You was fucking me with enough aggression to make me forget I had other places to be. And judging by the way you was carrying on, being late was clearly my problem, not yours.”
