“And if we stay?”
Bayer's shoulders slumped. "We stay here with Phoenix's pack. Safe, but...guests. Always guests."
“Okay, then look at it this way. Take the guilt out.” Bayer looked at me, startled. “Your responsibility for the other bears. If it was just you and me, what would you want to do?”
"I want our children to know who they are," he said. "But I want them to have choices I never had, and I don’t think they’ll get those an hour away from here. I want you to do the school with Em. I want our kids to grow up with friends. I just don't know how to have both."
I turned and took his gorgeous face in my hands. “I think you need to talk to Phoenix.”
He nodded miserably. “What do you want?”
I sat up and straddled his hips, then wriggled experimentally. We both groaned at the same time. His hands gripped my hips, steadying me even as his breath hitched. "Danny, you're supposed to be resting..."
"I'm taking doctor's orders seriously," I murmured, leaning down to brush my lips against his. "Gentle activity, remember?"
"This doesn't feel very gentle," Bayer growled, his eyes darkening as I rolled my hips again.
“I’ll be gentle with you, my alpha,” I said, a wicked grin tugging at my lips.
He dragged his thumbs in lazy circles over my hipbones. Bayer grabbed my hands and pressed them to his mouth. “You sure?” he rasped.
That low, rough tone made my chest quake. “Fuck yes,” I breathed. “I need you.”
His resistance melted. Fingers slipped under my shirt, warm skin to cold air as he tugged it up and off. I shivered, but his smoldering stare set me ablaze.
“You’re gorgeous,” he murmured, leaning down to kiss my collarbone. “Every damn inch.”
I yanked at his shirt. “Too many clothes,” I snapped.
He chuckled against me, the vibration sending jolts through my spine. “Patience, kitten.”
"Kitten?" I spluttered.
"Little with claws," he murmured.
“Patience is bullshit.” I shoved his shirt over his shoulders, ignoring his description. My fingers gently traced the bandages wrapping his ribs. “Still hurts?”
“Not when it’s you,” he whispered, kissing my fingertips.
We tore off the rest of our clothes, each strip of fabric fueling our hunger. When we stood naked, he guided me onto the pillows, his thick length hovering between my thighs.
He claimed my lips in a kiss that started soft, then spiraled into something feral. His hands roamed, finding every spot that made me arch and gasp.
“Bayer,” I moaned, tugging at his hair. “Please.”
He paused at my stomach, amber eyes blazing. “Tell me what you want, my omega.”
“You.”
He trailed kisses down my body, worshipping me with mouth and tongue until I trembled. His fingers slid and dipped into my hole, and he lifted them, glistening with slick. I watched as he slipped them between his lips and sucked. His moan nearly made me explode. Then he rose and positioned himself at my entrance.
“Ready?” he asked, voice rough.
“More than,” I breathed, pulling him in.
He slid into me, slow and deep, filling me inch by delicious inch. “Jesus, you feel amazing,” he groaned, starting a steady rhythm.
“Harder,” I urged, arching into him.
