I slide my fingers down, coating them in her moisture, then bring my middle finger back up and circle over her clit, lifting my head to look at her. “Ah, baby, you’re so beautiful.”
Her eyes are closed, and her cheeks are flushed pink. She sucks her bottom lip, her brows drawing together as she concentrates on the sensation of me touching her. “That feels so good,” she whispers. “Ohhh…”
I continue to arouse her, gathering up more moisture from time to time, while I kiss her lips, then her breasts, not sure which I enjoy most. The evening sun slants through the window across the bed, covering us in a golden glow. I make a mental note to get air conditioning fitted in the flat eventually, but right now I like that it’s warm and sultry. Beneath the duvet we’re growing hot and sweaty, and Vix’s skin is glowing.
“Oh God,” she says, her thighs loosening as she widens them.
“Ah, baby… come for me, sweetheart.” I swirl my finger over her clit, smooth and rhythmic, while I kiss her deeply. She holds her breath, gasps, then shudders and moans as her body clenches half a dozen times. “Oh God,” she says, “Oh God, oh God, oh God…”
I hold her until she’s done, then withdraw my fingers. Her eyes drift open, and then she stares as I lift my fingers to my mouth and suck them clean.
“Mitch!” Her face flames.
“Only the start of what I’m going to do to you, baby,” I tell her smugly, lifting myself up and pulling the duvet over my head. “Now I have to taste you. So get comfortable, because I’m going to take ages. I’ve wanted to do this for a long time.”

“I should shower first,” I protest weakly as Mitch disappears beneath the duvet. “I’m all hot and sweaty.”
His voice beneath the duvet is muffled. “Are you trying to turn me on?”
Oh jeez… this man…
I stare up at the tulle curtains draped over the brass bedstead as he presses his lips down my body. He stops and kisses over my breasts for a while, then continues down, and I feel his tongue dip into my belly button.
“Oh,” I groan, “don’t kiss my stretch marks.”
He laughs and presses his lips over my soft stomach. “I’m going to kiss every square centimetre of you, Vix Richards.”
“Winter.”
His lips stop.
“I’ve decided, I’m going back to my maiden name.” I look up at the white tulle. It reminds me of my wedding dress. I feel a brief twinge of sadness, and then it passes.
He lifts up, pushing the duvet back over his head, and looks down at me. His hair is all ruffled and his face is flushed. His eyes are bright.
“What?” I ask. “My marriage is over. I knew that the day he walked out. It’s just taken me time to get used to it.”
Does he believe me? I need him to understand that I don’t want Jayden back.
He inhales, then exhales slowly. “You’re still wearing your wedding ring.”
I lift my hand to look at it. It glints in the ray of sunlight falling across the bed.
“I forgot about that,” I say softly.
“I watched him put it on you,” he says. “It marks you as his.”
I look up into his eyes, which gleam with an unusual possessiveness.
Taking the ring between the thumb and forefinger of my right hand, I ease it off and put it on the bedside table.
Our eyes meet again. “I’m not his anymore,” I say.
Mitch’s lips slowly curve up. Bringing my hand up to his lips, he kisses the place where my ring used to sit.
