“Okay.”

Natalia narrowed her eyes at Arden’s worried expression. She was confident she could protect herself from Wizard, but it never hurt to know your enemy.

“So, tell me,” she relented. “How did Wizard get his nickname?”

“He makes the impossible happen.”

CHAPTER 3

FOOLS NEVER LEARN

If he’d been tired when he left the factory, he was exhausted by the time he finally made it back to the club.

Kat took one look at him as he walked through the door and poured him a beer from the tap. Taking a stool at the bar, Wizard reached for the ice-cold mug. He took a long drink before setting it down.

“Where’s Doom?” he growled at Kat, who had moved to the far end of the bar.

“He’s in the office, going over the contractor’s estimate for finishing the bathrooms.”

Taking out his phone, Wizard texted Doom, Get your ass out front. Now!

Not giving a fuck how rude the message sounded, he tapped his fingers against the bar.

Kat immediately slid a pack of cigarettes across the counter to him.

Doom appeared just as Wizard lifted the lighter to his cigarette. Judging by his furious frown, he wasn’t happy about being interrupted.

“I was busy.”

Ignoring the glare, Wizard took another drink of his beer and tried to calm himself before laying into his sergeant-at-arms.

“Well?” Doom asked, taking the stool beside him.

Turning on his seat, Wizard hooked his boot beneath the bottom rung of Doom’s stool and jerked his foot upward, toppling him backward.

Wizard surged to his feet and kicked Doom in the ribs. The brother made no effort to dodge the blow.

“What the fuck?”

Placing the cigarette between his lips, Wizard stared down at him.

“When were you planning to tell me the Yeti is Natalia’s brother?”

Seeing consternation cross Doom’s face, Wizard kicked him again. “You motherfucker!” He pulled his leg back for another kick, only to find himself flying backward when Doom swept his supporting leg out from under him.

The brothers sitting at a nearby table scattered to the other side of the bar.

Wizard sat up, the cigarette still dangling between his lips, and saw Doom was already getting to his feet.

“If you’d come to my wedding, you would’ve found out the same time I did!” Doom snarled down at him.

“I’m going to kick your ass when I get up,” Wizard warned.

“Then get the fuck up.”

“I would if I could.” Wincing, Wizard shifted his weight to one side. “I think you broke my tailbone.”

Doom didn’t lower his guard. “Bullshit.”
