“I can.” Challenge flares in his gaze. “I could fuck you right here if I wanted to. Just like I could’ve fucked you every day while you slept.” He kisses me hard, and I can’t help but kiss him back. “A whole month, Eden… For a whole month you’ve been teasing me, nuzzling against me while you slept. You know, you’re so perfect when you sleep? Damn it, if you let me, I’m going to fuck you while you sleep one day. When you’re ready for me.”

I should be disgusted by the words he’s saying, but it only makes my entrance clench around his tip. No. “Lux, you have to go.” My hips tilt towards him, welcoming in a little before I can stop myself.

“It feels like you don’t want me to.” He presses in further, barely entering me, but it’s enough to make my head spin. I hear him curse under his breath, moving his hands up to grip my wrists. “Fuck, Eden,” he growls.

My hips roll, or maybe his do. I’m not sure anymore. All I can focus on is the pulsing in my core.

Stars, am I even still a virgin? If this is what letting a man claim you feels like, maybe I shouldn’t want to be.

My entrance throbs with desperate need. The need for him. I feel his body tense, his muscles vibrating as I squirm beneath him. The need for his thick, velvety—

No. This is all wrong. “Stop! Get off me!” I squirm as far back as his strong grip will let me.

His breath is heavy, but thankfully he releases me as I scramble away from him. I can’t even look at him. I know if I do, I’ll come crawling straight back.

“Eden, you don’t need to fear me,” he says.

“I do!” I cry out. “I can’t trust myself around you anymore. It’s like I keep forgetting what you’ve done to me.” The pleasant feeling in my chest is already creeping back as he edges closer to me, along with a slight headache. Rubbing my temples, I groan.

“Let me help you dress.” He gently cups my elbow.

Part of me wants to stay in bed all day, or at least for a few hours after he leaves. I have to think this through. A month... Panic flares inside me. How could I have been asleep for a month?

My poor sisters must think I’m dead. I have to write to them!

“I need a quill and some parchment.” I try to glare at Lux, but it’s almost impossible with the way my traitorous heart flutters.

Stupid faerie bond.

“You need to get dressed first and then you can finish your meal,” Lux replies with a chuckle. “You have a busy day today, but I’ll make sure you’ll have time to write your letters. You don’t need to worry about your sisters.” Leading me out of bed, he helps me to stand on my wobbly legs.

I frown as he holds me by my waist, but I frown even harder when I notice my hands grasping his shoulders.

I’m about to push myself away from him when I feel something hot and sticky trickling down my legs. Dread sinks in my stomach as I glance down.

But it’s not my monthly cycle.

Confused, I try to wipe it with my fingers, but Lux stops me, grasping my wrist.

“Ah ah. Don’t waste it,” he chides, pushing me back towards the bed until I’m perched on the side.

With a dangerous grin, he parts my thighs. I gasp as he uses two fingers to swipe up the glistening fluid and push it deep inside of me.

“Lux,” I moan.

Something dark flutters over his gaze. “Say my name like that again and I’ll make sure you don’t leave this bed until I claim your perfect arse too.”

I bite down on my lower lip, my chest heaving. I don’t know what he means by that, but it can’t be good. Even if my body is screaming to kiss him until the sun dips below the horizon.

He sighs before helping me stand once again. “Any preferences for your gown?” he asks, heading towards my wardrobe.

“I… um…”

“This one is pretty.” He pulls out the long yellow and pink gown that I wore on my first day here. “You should wear it as much as you can before it no longer fits you.”

I raise an eyebrow at that, but I don’t get a chance to ask him what he means as he brings me the gown and a pair of lacy bloomers.
