“Eden, you will not disobey me,” he growls as my belly flips. “You’ve been in bed for weeks, barely able to eat more than porridge and soup. I want to see you eating proper food before I let you out of this room.”
I glare at his hand on my wrist. “Do I even have a choice?”
“No.” He smiles, and as if agreeing with him my stomach lets out a furious rumble.
“Fine.” I don’t meet his gaze. Can’t trust myself not to run my fingers through his hair again if I do.
Barely a minute passes before I hear footsteps outside and a tray is brought into my room. It smells so divine that I almost don’t care about the dark-haired prince who’s carrying it.
“You’re finally up,” Castor acknowledges me, placing the tray on my bedside table. “How did you sleep?”
“I think you know,” I grumble. My memories are still a foggy mess, but I know Lux wasn’t the only one who tended to me while I slept. I remember Castor’s hands on my ankle, my calf, my…
Horror sinks into me. “Do I still have my virtue?”
“Eden,” Lux scoffs, offended.
Castor chuckles, handing the fork to his brother. “Trust me, princess, if we fucked you, you’d know.”
“Would I?” I snarl. “Because you’ve been drugging me for the past month.”
“Eden, no one has raped you.” Lux takes my chin in his fingers, forcing me to meet his gaze. Heat rushes through me, and I feel myself sinking again. I squeeze my eyes shut instead. “I would never let that happen. You can trust me.”
I hear Castor laugh quietly, and any relief I might’ve felt turns to anger. “What about you?” I hiss at him. “You saw no issue with forcing me to strip for you before or that time you had your way with me in the ballroom.” I feel Lux tense beside me.
“I seem to remember you thoroughly enjoyed our encounter in the ballroom.” Castor smirks. “Or at least your dirty little moans made it sound like you did.”
“Leave us, Castor.” Lux scowls. “I wish to feed my mate breakfast alone.”
I want to argue because I hate the way he calls me his ‘mate’, but the thought of Castor leaving is too tempting. Especially because having both of the princes here is making the warmth in my chest unbearable.
“I’ll be with Father,” Castor says over his shoulder.
My lips part. Their father is here? Maybe he can help me?
“Make sure you’re wearing more clothes when you meet him today,” Castor adds in my direction.
I glance down, only to clamp my hands over my bare chest. My nightgown must’ve slipped off my shoulders at some point. Maybe when I fell out of bed? Or maybe Lux pushed it down when he came in and—
Biting the inside of my cheeks, I try to lift it up when Lux stops me.
“Leave it,” he commands.
“I can’t…”
“You will leave it because I wish to look at you.”
“Haven’t you already done enough looking over this past month?” I seethe, keeping my other hand over my breasts.
“Not nearly enough,” he whispers, before turning away and reaching for the plate.
He brings it between us. The smell is mouthwateringly good. It’s my favourite, of course. Pasta in a creamy cheese sauce with thick chunks of meat, but there’s some kind of vegetable stirred in too. Proper food, I suppose.
“Open your mouth.” He prepares a forkful of the dish, bringing it to my lips.
“I can feed myself.”
“I know you can, but you’re still going to open your mouth for me.”
