What the hell is happening to me?
“Welcome to Winter Storm Estate.”
Minho’s voice pulls me from my thoughts. He approaches with my luggage while Mika follows close behind, carrying hers.
Winter Storm Estate.
The name is… pretty and surprisingly fitting for a place surrounded by snow-covered mountains.
I look toward the mansion, its golden lights glowing behind the dark glass.
For a fleeting second, I have the strangest sensation that I’ve arrived somewhere I was never supposed to find. Somewhere waiting for me.
Winter Storm Estate…
A beautiful name for a beautiful place.
And perhaps the first warning I’ll wish I’d listened to.
Because some storms don’t arrive to destroy you. Some arrive to unravel everything you thought you knew about yourself.
And the ones that cause the most damage?
They don’t begin with avalanches.
They begin with a single snowflake and end with a beautiful song.
