Sweet Nightmare

“Correction, she’s, my pest.”

Eloise swims to the glass, stares at Artemis for a moment, then promptly turns around and swims away.

I bite my lip.

She owns a fish. One with a tiny crown and an attitude very similar to hers.

“That fish is your twin,” I tell her.

Artemis lifts one elegant eyebrow, directing her attention entirely toward me.

“Eloise is much nicer than I am.”

“Now that,” Mika says, nodding enthusiastically, “is something we can all agree on.”

Artemis gives her a look capable of freezing the entire mountain and I swear I fall a little more for this woman.

After that, the meeting finally gets underway, and I attempt to focus as Junie reviews the marketing projections and Stevie explains the campaign concept. The storm has thrown our schedules into chaos, leaving us with one day to finalize everything.

I should be paying attention.

Unfortunately, Artemis is sitting directly across from me, looking like a winter goddess in a white tracksuit. Her white-blonde hair spills down her back, and a dusting of silver glitter catches the light on her lips.

Those fucking lips.

I remember kissing the fuck out of them.

I remember their sweetness. Their warmth. The way her hot as fuck body fit against mine like she’d been made especially for me.

I shift in my chair when my dick twitches at the thought.

Shit.

“Stephen?”

I look up to find Junie staring at me. So is everyone else.

“What?”

“The photoshoot location?”

Right. Work.

“How about the garden?”

“Which section?”

“The fountain.”

Artemis looks up.

Our eyes meet, and suddenly, I’m back in the snow, remembering her hand against my chest and the way she’d kissed me back like some part of her had been waiting for me, too.

My heart does a little flip.

Fuck me.

Across the table, Mika makes a suspicious choking sound.
