Mika folds her arms, a smirk pulling at her mouth. “I’ve never seen it happen.”

“Neither have I,” Mrs. Han says happily.

Then her eyes light up.

“Did my boy⁠—”

I take a deep breath and hold up a palm.

“Nope.”

She closes her mouth.

Good.

I don’t mean to be rude but I don’t want to talk about Stephen. Not when I don’t understand half the things that I’m feeling.

I look at Stevie. “Why are you here?”

Silence falls.

The three of them exchange looks.

Stevie’s grin slowly returns.

“Um... did you forget why you’re here?”

I blink.

“What?”

“Turner Co. X Khaos.”

My shoulders deflate before I quickly straighten them again.

I absolutely cannot let this pack of hungry hyenas know that part of me is disappointed that reality is here.

“You got here and nobody thought to wake me?”

Stevie looks offended.

“I sent you six texts.”

“I was asleep.”
