If she wasn’t pressing her thighs together like that I’d be able to see her soaked panties, maybe even the outline of her lower lips if she was wet enough for them to cling just right.
Why was it so bleedin’ hot knowing I was the one who drove her to this wanton state, simply by ordering her not to touch herself?
I didn’t know, but I wanted more.
Canting my head to the side, my lazy smile broadened into a grin as her eyes met mine, pupils completely blown. That’s right, Lass. Think about how you have to sit there in front of all these people overcome with need. Hmmm, maybe you should spread those pretty thighs for me, too.
I slid my arse onto the desktop, then flung my gaze right to her hooded one. My dominant side crowed in triumph. I just knew she was thinking about what happened in the shower, reliving the moment I came all over her. She had to be.
Fuck. Me. She was so beautiful coated in my claim.
Excitement thrummed inside me as I glanced at the clock over the exit, the emotion pinging from rib to rib and rebounding off the occasional organ like a bouncy ball. Finally, only thirty minutes left of class. It was hard work being such a phenomenal TA, no wonder Professor Torbus left me that note stapled to a vague lesson plan for the remainder of the semester. These poor students. Between their absentee professor and my lack of interest in giving a shite to anything not pertaining to my Honeybee, they were screwed.
Something the shade of lavender steadily appeared on my shoulder milliseconds before Huff winked onto it, the color of his magic vanishing.
I glared at the students. “I’ll be right back.” I stalked toward the exit. “Ten minutes left of class,” I informed them, “let’s hope you can contain yourselves until then.”
Several various forms of outrage trickled from the humans. “Why does he speak to us like we’re children?” someone mumbled before the door closed behind me.
“Hello, Huff,” I greeted him cheerfully, nudging his fuzzy body with my cheek.
“Baney!” he replied, mirroring my happiness, then clutched my jaw with two tails, the third looping around a bit of stone fur, and hugged my face tightly. “We missed you. Why didn’t you come find us as soon as you returned?”
My heart clenched, guts knotting. I’ve been neglecting my best friend lately.
“Not only are you a piss-poor mate, now we can add shitty friend to the list, too,” Marv pointed out.
Freddy snorted. “Again, not his mate.”
A growl slipped out and Huff tilted his head. Quiet, both of you.
Rolling my eyes, I shrugged. “Demons.”
He nodded in understanding, having witnessed my silent arguments with the demons countless times. “How’s Miko? Is she okay? Does she need healing? I can go gather some Heechus,” Huff rambled in a way he never did, and my eyes narrowed on the thing grasped between his upper paws.
“Little thief. Did you filch this from her?” I accused, lifting a hand to take the tiny purple duck from him, but ultimately deciding to let it go a moment later when he stepped back and his eye glossed with moisture. I rubbed a palm in a circle over my pecs. Huff really was worried for her, and me.
I sighed, my chest warming. I’m so damn grateful to be a part of his family. I don’t tell him that enough.
“It’s a long story, and that’s not an excuse, it’s actually true. I promise to tell you everything this afternoon, eh?”
Huff crossed his ears over his head, eye narrowing. “Promise?”
Grinning, I nodded, taking in his fluffy body as it seemed to bristle.
“Pinky promise?”
I guffawed. “You don’t even have a pinky, Little Shite.” Raising a brow, I studied him. “Fine. Yes, I pinky promise.”
Huff opened his jaws wide and bit my proffered digit, causing my claws to extend as my former best friend giggled.
“What was that for?”
Huff flared all three tails in an arc behind him, bobbing them once in his version of a shrug. “As you said, I don’t have a pinky. Thought that,” he glanced at my bleeding stone skin, a viscus blue droplet splashing onto the floor, “was close enough.”
A grin bloomed across my face and I laughed with him. “You’ve had your fun, now go. I’d let you stay, but I have plans for my woman you won’t want to witness.”
Without further complaint, Huff winked out and I reentered the classroom, checking the time. Five minutes to go.
