For the next stop on the Dash,
Go to the happiest place in town.
Sure, we may be biased, but
You can’t be sad with books around!
Browse the aisles and
Search out titles, waiting there just for you.
A classic or a new release.
Maybe an old favorite . . . or two.
Take a seat in one of the cozy chairs,
Curl up and, for a while, stay.
Read a couple pages (or chapters!)
Before you get on with the day.
Then in the back of the store
A table you will find
Filled with pages and pages
From stories of all kinds.
Use the ornament supplies
And all the misprint copies you see
To craft a one-of-a-kind keepsake
To hang from your Christmas tree.
Take a photo of your creation
And bring it home with you.
Then get ready for the last Dash stop.
There’s just one thing left to do!
Chapter 30
Gabe
“Quit sulking in the kitchen.”
I let the door to the dining room swing shut and glance over at the smirking face of Patrice.
“I’m not sulking,” I say defensively.
“Keep telling yourself that, sugar.” She clicks her tongue. “But I’m the one who’s looking at that handsome face of yours. What are you even doing here?”
